Can't Switch Microsoft Accounts - Infinite Loop
When I originally bought the game, I played on a different Microsoft account that I no longer have access to (one of my parent's accounts from when I played Xbox as a kid.). So, when I started up the game today, I wanted to use my own account. The web browser within the game will not let me.
Basically, I click 'sign in with a different Microsoft account', and the page refreshes. That's it. Half the time the button doesn't even appear. I tried guessing a ton of passwords until the account locked itself, then clicking 'sign in with a different Microsoft account'. This worked one time, and I got to log in! Then the game hit me with an infinite loading screen. This never worked again.
So, back to square one. Here's what I tried, to no avail:
- Deleting the MCC folder in Appdata/LocalLow
- Disabling Steam Cloud Sync before doing this, in case it affects these files
- Finding and deleting the exact token in Windows Credential Manager (Xbl|1144039928, if you're curious. Another thread here confirms it.)
- Restarting my PC
- All of these things at once

I really have to wonder how the hell any of this could possibly happen to begin with, and according to a Reddit post I found, still remain unfixed FOUR YEARS LATER.

I haven't solved it. I literally just can't play the game, lmfao. The methods I mentioned in my post have solved it for some other people, but not me.
Admittedly, I haven't tried deleting *all* of the 'xbl' tokens in Credential Manager, but I don't think that would work.

Hi All,

Had this issue today after having to nuke my old Microsoft email. Did everything listed below and it worked.

POSSIBLE WORKAROUND 1: DELETE BROWSER COOKIES AND CACHE IN STEAM SETTINGS
Open the Steam app
Select Steam and select Settings
Go to Web Browser
Select Delete Web browser cache
Select Ok to delete all files in the built-in web browser cache
Select Delete all browser cookies
Select Ok to clear all Steam browser cookie data
Launch Halo Infinite and check to see if the sign-in process has started from the beginning.

POSSIBLE WORKAROUND 2: REMOVE HALO INFINITE SIGN IN CREDENTIALS
In the Windows Search bar, enter "Credential Manager", and select Credential Manager to open it.
Select Windows Credentials.
Scroll down to the section labeled Generic Credentials.
For every item that has "Xbl|2043073184" in the title:
Click on the item to expand it
Select Remove
Confirm you wish to delete that item
Launch Halo Infinite and check to see if the sign-in process has started from the beginning.
Note: This may sign you out of most or all Xbox network sign-ins on your PC.

Hello man, idk if anything else worked for you, I just tried this new solution on reddit from Ryan_WXH and it worked for me:

Close out Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Halo Infinite or any Halo title you're having an issue with.

On your keyboard, press Windows Key + R at the same time

This should open Run in a new window.

In the text box, copy and paste this text rundll32.exe keymgr.dll,KRShowKeyMgr and then click OK.

This should open Stored User Names and Passwords in a new window.

On the list, find every item that starts with Xbl

This can include but is not limited to: Xbl, Xbl_Ticket, Xbl|, Xbl|DeviceKey andXblGrts.

Click on each item beginning with Xbl and click the Remove button and then OK on the confirmation pop-up.

Do this for every single one.

After removing all of these, you can safely click Close on the Stored User Names and Passwords window.

Re-open Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Halo Infinite or the Halo title you were having an issue with.

You should now be prompted to sign into your Microsoft Account.

Make sure you are signing into the correct Microsoft Account for Halo. Your Halo data is linked to your Microsoft Account including stuff like in-game unlocks, progression, etc.

Hope this solution works for you bro

The long ass posts talking about removing the credentials from Windows is a verified solution - your credential manager has like a bajillion spots it stores the xbox live sign in - and it overlaps it with other apps like the xbox app, the gamepass xbox app, etc -- and it also gets more convoluted when the keys are shared and cross-over written between mcc and halo infinite/other gamepass games.

So just clear that crap out.

Thanks that's worked for me too :)
Tried all of this multiple times and it still has me stuck trying to login to a locked Microsoft account

or you could just ask your parents for the password & change it when it emails you the verification (thru their email)
