split screen?

ive been waitng for years and i am getting tired of waiting. i just want to buy it already. especially when i see all these sales. but since the only time i play games like these is in split screen there is no point.
i know there was some mention of it being a possibility on the backlog after other things were done by the devs. does anyone have an update on that?
i suppose at this point ive just got to accept they are not going to do it.
dissapointing as for many like myself splitscreen is the heart of any halo game and how we grew up playing it. and pc is the superior beast that can handle splitscreen easy.

oh well, i guess at least they promised they would add splitscreen to halo infinite on pc (please tell me im not wrong about that...) so i can look forward to playing high quality 4k60 splitscreen on my 49" tv when that releases, or one player on the tv, one on the monitor.
damn i love the potential of pc. sad that it is so often not fully utilized.

There's been a mod out for MCC split screen for over a year iirc, so you could use that.

As far as an official split screen, 343i has stated that it's a very very low priority. And an Infinite release last month said "Halo Infinite will also support splitscreen on Xbox and LAN play via a PC local server." <- which makes me think it won't be available on PC.

lol I wish I'd be getting a paycheck from 343i. Anyway, I'd also like to see split screen on PC. I'm also fine with it being lower priority, since most of my gaming friends don't exactly live nearby anymore, making my usage of split screen practically nonexistent. I'm sure that's not the case for others, and they're rightfully upset. I'm simply demonstrating basic human selfishness and saying "that sucks, but here's a reason for it not to work, here's a workaround, glad they're at least working on patches and haven't totally walked away from MCC."

I guess that makes me a terrible person, no?

to be fair its an easy mistake to make.
i mean, they said something roughly along the lines of : "we intend to make a proper, fully featured pc version of the game, its not going to be ;just another port' if we are going to do this we are going to do it properly or not do it at all, we want to do it justice"

- mega paraphrazing there, but they did say something like that about the pc version of mcc years ago in an interview i saw.
that plust them saying all future versions of halo would have splitscreen, and me hearing somewhere that it was confirmed halo infinite was coiming to pc and would have splitscreen.

that all led me to believe halo mcc would have splitscreen on pc. that and the fact that it seemed like a no brainer and that 90% of fans would demand it. especially after the halfo 5 splitscreen fiasco on consoles.

and also of course halo mcc technically doesnt count as a future halo game so they dont feel entitled to include splitscreen as it doesnt technically fit theri promise.

so yeah, its fair for people to misunderstand 343s intentions. there is a lot of vague information out there.

well pc was never known for it and the overwhelming majority don't use/ask for it sooo

Actually, I think a lot of PC players care about split screen, it just isn't as much of a priority as it is for you. Add in a pandemic and a lot of people are actively trying to avoid couch co-op games. I'd consider you fortunate to have enough people near you to make split screen a top priority.

Here's a mod for split screen! You can have a total of SIXTEEN people on one computer (assuming it's powerful enough) playing! AFAIK the only limitations are you can't play online

hmm, somebody commented on a different splitscreen post and that triggered somebody else to tell them off for raising an old thread saying there were much newer threads, i looked through 10 pages of threads, i cant find any newer threads, just ended up back here... i think he was telling fibs.

I can recall at least two newer threads about split screen from the past month. It looks like they were deleted, either by a mod or the original poster, because my comments in them are also not showing up in my comment history.

Why wait on something that might not happen? The big downside to the Nucleus Coop mod is that you can't play online with other people. It might be possible to play in a regular custom game but I still don't know for sure if it can do that.

Xbox games with splitscreen having that functionality stripped from them for PC releases has always been ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and we should not accept it as an industry practice.
