Also, don't use any other weapon combo other than the Plasma Pistol and a precision weapon, preferably the BR. Remember it takes only a fraction of a section to die, so take your time and don't get cocky.
Take care of the first wave until the grunts scatter then start loading the landing point with nades the second you see covenant, retreat to the entrance or the boxes on your right to play sword on them once you've take 2 waves out immediately retreat to the entrance as the whites are coming, at this point you need a plasma pistol of which there should be many and a BR which you can find in the middle right side of the room on a dead marine, jump up the boxes on your right and use the door to reach him without engaging or crossing enemy paths, this room was a ballache but it's totally doable without inf ammo :)
Important to remember: All enemies die to one hit to the back from the sword so bait their melee swing THEN swing on them when it comes to red and blues this is easy little harder to time with the whites.
People, this is what difficulty is about. It's about being presented with an obstacle that doesn't have an obvious answer; it's about interrupting your "flow" and forcing you to switch things up in the middle of battle. I knew there would be people complaining about Halo 2's difficulty, but be careful what you call "broken". Game developers nowadays seem to have an itchy "patch" finger and are more than happy to destroy a perfectly good game through unnecessarily nerfing things that don't need nerfed.
Heroic feels like a completely different difficulty compared to legendary, it almost feels easy.
More like Bungie had an itchy 'nerf' finger when designing Halo 2's weapon balance.
I don't mind difficulty, but when it turns everything into a spongey RnG cheesy tankfest it's just boring. Hotline Miami difficulty is prime, enemies die quickly, but so do you. So the combat space is a puzzle you figure out.
And if this is "what difficulty is about", what in your mind did Halo 2 legendary get so right that all other Halo games get so wrong? Because they're nothing like this.
Fuel rod gun and rocket launcher are good too but most of the time itll be safer in the long term to keep the above weapons instead.
Needler is only good vs brutes for gravemind until you can find a carbine or beam rifle (seriously though ♥♥♥♥ gravemind)
Shotgun passable against flood. Sword good against flood. Smg ok against flood (recommend swapping out at first opportunity). Sentinel beam good against sentinels and flood (sort of ok vs elites but plasma pistol is so much better).
Use banshee against tartarus to save yourself the headache (tartarus doesnt know how to attack a banshee even if youre scraping around on the floor)
but you thought the elite is the worst you didnt see nothing the jackall sniper are the worst believe me on that
Actually Bungie was so pressed to get on the timeline that they barely had it to make corrections, the good exemple would be the jackals snipers, they never planned to make them like that so precise in legendary ...
But ... it's part of the 'legend' of the game and I actually like this legendary mod more than any other Halo, it's a good challenge and I have always fun finishing it like this
