Sure the game is almost 10 years old now but we saw halo 3 and odst get crossplay support in 2022. Splitscreen really adds a lot to the halo experience, pretty sad that the pc version doesn't get it.

I think the mod you are looking for is called "Nucleus". I'm waiting for my son to grow up before I can play this with him so I haven't bothered installing it my self. After seeing the horror with increased gfx fidelity with Halo 3, I realize that I will probably have a newer computer 5 years from now, and he'll barely be 10 years old.

if your saying 343 should add this not gonna happen well first back then long time when this game came out to Consoles they only Exclusively worked on this for the Xbox one only why Because an Xbox one has the navigation system on the controllers and exclusive controllers. a pc however lacks split screen the first problem is how are you gonna set the controls on a system that rely on mouse and keyboard if your gonna connect your controller to steam its also not possible i believe you login with 1 xbox account on Halo MCC so its impossible there also alot of things that may not work having split screen on pc version of mcc

Nucleus does technically work but it's far from ideal and a pain to go back from normal play to splitscreen

But worse of all is that the audio is overlapping each instance since you're basically just running multiple instances of the game.. with 4 player splitscreen it kinda kills the audio
