The UV mapping on that one cyclops helmet is also bad, revealing bits of unused texture space on top of the visor... bubble.. thing.
Aesthetics aside, these armor models are terrible from even a technical viewpoint.
Hope the toggle will allow reverting to the original undersuit and visor too.
343's "aesthetic" is so bad and it just looks even worse when slapped into a game with good art direction.

you might want to like, know stuff before you talk about that stuff.
343 is using a completely new skeleton that replaced halo 3's original one, that on top of looking different, also broke many of the armors from halo 3.
What is it with folks who want to implicitly tout their own intelligence defining anyone who disagrees with them as "fanboys" while using age as an argument?
Oh, yeah, it's because they graduated from the Reddit School of Rhetoric, and mistake upvotes from the echo chamber as evidence of logical argument.
For all we know, the toggle they implement could switch the new Gen 1 back to the OG halo 3 suit.
We do not know yet, the team hasn't said yet.
fighting amongst yourselves won't fix it, nor will it impact the outcome when the devs action their changes. There's a route to leave formal feedback, and it's not through insulting other players.
I mean points for being reasonable yourself, but we have the word fanboy for a reason- many fans of 343 don't seem to understand that despite halo 3 and 4 being part of the same series, they are IMMENSELY different games, and I can be a massive fan of Bungie's halo while despising 343's Halo.
The inability to understand or respect the fairness of 343's halo tainting bungie's halo is why I call some people fanboys, and why I think the use of the word is fair.
Also,"For all we know, the toggle they implement could switch the new Gen 1 back to the OG halo 3 suit." I wouldn't be so optimistic, I'm still waiting for a vanilla only, non-TU playlist setting for Halo Reach, and, so far as I have been told, that still hasn't happened, and their are still no plans.
When 343 makes a decision, they stick to it.
Halo isn't really a Bungie property anymore, though; they sold the rights when they went solo, and Microsoft (who does own the rights) handed the franchise over to 343i.
You can love the old titles and hate the new. In that, you and I are the same; CE remains my favorite entry, largely for nostalgia-driven reasons (I was in college when it hit the XBox in 01), but I appreciate all of the Bungie titles.
4, as far as I am concerned, is not Halo--and I never bothered with 5.
But here's where you and I diverge: I do not believe that my devotion to the older games gives me any additional say over what happens to them now. The series does not belong to me any more than it belongs to any other individual fan.
We do not have the right--as individuals--to determine what other folks are and are not allowed to enjoy, and when you attempt to do that (especially over something as goofy as armor options), you're behaving like the very term you use as a dismissive insult--a fanboy.
That you appear to be incapable of seeing that isn't surprising; a lack of self-awareness coupled with an inability to understand irony is a hallmark of the internet gatekeeper, after all.
It's just disappointing.
I'm aware, and I don't like the decisions they're making, and I'm allowed to not like them. It's not moral, it's not consistent, and it's not profitable. There doesn't seem to be any reason for 343 to pollute halo reach, 3, 1, 2, outside of ego.
But this viewpoint isn't valid. I'm allowed to talk about what I loved, what is right, and most importantly to microsoft, *what I will pay for.*
hmm... you're not gatekeeping by telling me what I'm not allowed to say, who I'm not allowed to say it to and why I'm not allowed to say it (while using completely invalid logic?)
Yea naw. You're a gatekeeper and a hypocrite, and one with an ego the size of my house.
