Found Bluetooth Fix!
For anyone who is having issues with sound output on their Bluetooth speaker/headphones, I have a fix.

Go into the Sound Control Panel, you can access this from Sound in the Windows 10 Settings menu, or in the legacy Control Panel.

Find your headset in the Playback and Recording tabs. It should have your model of headphones in parenthesis with Headset in front of it. You want to go into properties and disable the device in the bottom drop down menu. MAKE SURE YOU DISABLE THE DEVICE IN BOTH PLAYBACK AND RECORDING. Another guide says that you only need to go into Playback, but at least for me for my headphones to work properly, you also have to go into the Recording tab and disable your device there as well. Once you do these steps you should have audio now on your Bluetooth headphones/speakers.

Game on!

Thanks for this! Disabling it in the recording tab is what I was missing all along.

Disabling recording for any mic interface on bluetooth should work. This is a problem with a lot of games in general.

Okay, so I found this reddit post which will help offer a better idea. https://www.reddit.com/r/halo/comments/e6eky3/fix_for_bluetooth_headphones_not_working_in_halo/

I would advise that you may need to restart your PC before it actually works. You may need to disable the Microphone and Headset that mentions Free AG.

If the moderators see this, please created a pinned post about the fix for this problem. It is a very common issue, shown by all the threads in this discussion and on other threads like reddit.

This should be stickied! Awesome fix, couldn't for the life of me figure out why my new Bluetooth speakers would cut off at the Menu.

Thank you very much for sharing this information. This fixed it for me. I have been dealing with bad sound with my bluetooth headset since I got this game.

So in short: in Windows go to playback devices and then disable your headset in the Recording tab. For me at least, the sound immediately got back to normal quality while the game was busy in the background.

This is not a fix, it's a workaround. When you disable the headset device, it makes it so that Zoom and other VoIP won't pick up your mic audio from the headset, so this would only be considered a temporary workaround. Also, I had to disable the "headset" in Device Manager before it would work. Sound playback/recording wasn't enough.

Thanks!
Sorry for bringing this back up from the grave, but I am having an issue still with my sony blue tooth headphones. The audio sounds super muffled/underwater and nothing I am finding has fixed it, if anyone has found any solutions? :(

Thank you for this. Can't believe I played through most of the game with so much worse sound.

Time to start over :-D

On Windows 11 follow the initial steps provided in the post.
If those steps don't work, proceed with the following:

Go to the Playback tab. Select Properties. Navigate to the Advanced tab. Uncheck Exclusive Mode.
