Resolution changes to 720p when launching game

This happens every time. The resolution changes to 720p after the 343 logo video plays, before going into the main menu. I change it back to 1080p. Occasionally this crashes the game and I have to reboot windows.

Anyone have a similar issue or know how to fix this?

Dude, me too!!!!!
For me, it only does this when running in fullscreen mode (which I *want*).
You might try setting your desktop to the resolution you want, then launch the game with borderless fullscreen. In any case, I can't figure out how to get it to save my fullscreen resolution (5860x1080 BC)

So I launch the game on a 1080p native tv, and even with the game settings set to 1080p it reverts to 720p anyway. Have not tried borderless windowed but lets be honest should that be necessary? Other games don't do this.
