Steamcharts also doesn't include steam users like me with profiles set to friends only, nor does it count Windows players who are also playing with us.
Yeah buddy, sure, it's "dead".. But only in certain echo chambers mind you.
Steam has official sources for concurrent and peak player numbers already. 21,419 and 35,871 respectively.
35,000 players and more on a work day is pretty good too
Again, steamcharts doesn't account for all players anyway, but even if it was 35k (its more then that).. 35k is loads xD
Only people saying game is dead are ones who keep complaining about X, Y, or Z.. They like to think the games dying because they're not being pandered to.
Like I said, those numbers don't include Window Store players, nor does it include people like ME who have my profile set to friends only/private.
Numbers bigger then that, also if you think 35,000 on a tuesday is "dead".. Don't know what to tell you, people will say its "dead" no matter what the numbers would say.
Still, comparing off-peak when it release and off-peak now still paints a pretty bleak picture. I guess it's a combination of all the problems grinding people down, the mass ban handouts (seemed like AFK farming was rampant) and the lack of any real response regarding various hot topic issues are all contributing towards keeping people away.
I also feel Reach was never the reason most people bought the MCC anyway - can't speak for everyone of course - but I was only ever here for the original trilogy and ODST.
It was millenials that grew up playing Halo, not boomers.. They grew up playing Pac-Man buddy.
Millenials started early 80's if I recall... I'm still a Millenial even though I was born in 84...
Christ almighty, its like people dont understand that other people actually have lives, and cant play a game 24/7, 365 days.
When it comes to online shooters it's usually my go too. At least for multiplayer scene. I grew up off games like Quake and even the original Team Fortress, so I prefer games that play out like those did. In this day and age, there's not many games out there, so there's not many options for me to play.
When it comes to Halo though, I've always liked the singleplayer and coop aspects of it. I find it genuinely fun to kick back with a few friends and blow through single player levels on the harder difficulties and with skulls and what not on. I'm hoping Doom eternal will have coop of some fashion when it comes out, but I doubt it will. So Halo: MCC will probably be my go to for that for a good long time.
