Connection Interrupted - Immediately Banned
Can someone help me? I am trying to play match making with my husband but I keep getting Connection Interrupted while the map loads. This just started today.
Then it kicks me out and tells me I have been banned for a set amount of time.
I don't know how to fix it. I've never left a game, I can't even get in games!

Edit: The map only loads about half way before I get this error. It's happening for both me and my husband.

I don't recall the exact details but I found people with the same problem as you when I was searching for solutions to another Connection Interrupted issue that I have, but I think the solution was either to set the NAT type to Open or use a VPN.

To set NAT type to Open, follow this guide[beta.support.xbox.com]. Part 5 of this guide (port forwarding) is what did it for me.

If you're still having issues after that, then perhaps one of you should use a VPN to mask one of your computer's network so the game won't think you're both on the same network. I'm not sure if this works though as I couldn't find the post that mentioned using this to fix their same network issue.

I have never used that app. I uninstalled most bloatware from my PC when I bought it. Give me a moment to ask my husband if he knows our NAT type.

He says it's set to Strict.

Part 5 is mostly app port forwarding. Correct? If so then I know how to do that. Husband doesn't.
Thank you for all of your help.

Yeah, just go to your router's page like 192.168.1.1 and set up the listed ports there. No guarantees it'll work though; my problem still isn't solved after doing that. Oddly enough, the solution to my problem was logging out and back into Xbox Live again via the main menu although I don't think the it'll work in your case as the cause of our Connection Interrupted are different (for some people, it's because their ISP is filtering connections).

Thank you again. I've set up all the port forwarding. Me and my husband are going to go try again. I really appreciate your kindness.

I still can't do big team battles for some reason, but everything else is working!
Thank you!

Ive had the same issue ever since the 3rd hour of gaming on the first day of launch. tried everything ive heard and more. spent everyday trying to get it to work. Ive already forwarded ports and got nat type to medium, which always worked for every game I have on my pc. except halo ce(reach worked for some weird reason) I ran into this and followed the directions. launched the game, connected to one, and it acted like it was gonna kick me like every other time, about half a second and it resumed the match!! Setup a DCHP reservation and adjust your IPV4(I added 10 to the last number) https://beta.support.xbox.com/help/friends-social-activity/parties-chat/troubleshoot-multiplayer-game

Dude, you arent the onlly person, its has nothing to do with your nat type and is actually a known issue on 343 side.

For the sake of posting what worked for me on this similar thread given it's already necroed, a solution provided by support was to add to MCC's launch options this launch parameter: +clientport 270XX (XX being one increment higher than another user on the same router).

Ultimately, it's a game issue, but thankfully Steam provides a workaround on their layer.

Hi, I'm having this problem as well. I've had "Connection Interrupted" then banned both times I tried to load into multiplayer during the last hour. NAT type is open and I'm the only one playing Halo on my router. Kind of weird this bug from 2019 hasn't been fixed.
