I agree though, story wise it could have been much better, although I gotta say the cinematography in Reach is so good for it's time. Halo has always been cinematic, but the shots from security cameras, or just really good camera placement really makes the game feel seperate from the rest in terms of it's overall narrative theme.
Nobel 6 is a Spartan III, and is widely considered to be the best of the Spartan III's.
Simple fact is that S-III's were lower grade, lighter equiped, and seen as disposable and "cheap" compared to the highly trained (by comparison), highly equiped, and highly costly S-II's.
You cannot deny or argue the factual data that the SII class is better in every way than SIII's.

It's funny because a lot of the details in the Halo Reach were actually retconned from the original story. highly recommend reading the book, Fall of Reach. the two only loosely work together. It caused quite a bit of stir back in the day and you can actually still find people that REALLY don't want/believe Halo Reach to be canon.
Not quite as strong as a Spartan 2 but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the man could dunk on almost anything you throw at him.
The books do go into detail and flesh him out, he is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ terrified of the Flood and it spreading outside of Halo, not to mention that he could be a Forerunner after all.
I alos do agree and understand that Master Chief was never really meant to be a fully fleshed out Character. he's much more a Gordon Freeman than a Geralt of Rivia, but what I do enjoy about Noble 6 over MC, is that 6 has a pretty fishy background in UNSC/ONI Black-Ops stuff which is barely ever touched on. I think that's both really cool, but also a little cheap as far as writing a character goes. It still adds that human element, and also allows for speculation as to what exactly your character's previous chapter's in life were like.
I think I'm just a sucker for prequels that end minutes before the next entry starts, though. It's cool playing CE again with that knowledge of just how hard it was to get Cortana off of Reach, and just how many people sacrificed their lives for what would eventually be the Chief and his mission.
