If you've noticed, the hunters arent always facing the direction the game is showing. they're really quite wonky. I have a theory its the same with pretty much every enemy in firefight.
Just to a much lesser extent.
Firefight in general is just a buggy mess when it comes to medals.
Especially the assist medal. Makes it a nightmare to get teamwork XP without a warthog.
I can have a DUEL with a wonky, moonwalkin hunter, and someone flies outta nowhere, gets the kill, and i get no assist for it.
Same with every other enemy.
I'd say i only get the assist medal 2/10 times when i deserve it.
Imagine tryharding the plasma pistol overcharge to get an assist medal,
And you get the medal for weakening a dead enemy with the overcharge,
but you dont actually get the assist.
I have done some testing and assassinations work 100% of the time in singleplayer campaign/firefight, no issues there. However in multiplayer they don't work all the time *unless the target is moving away from me*. You know how grunts will sometimes get scared and run away? I never have trouble assassinating them when they do that, and I think the cases where I can't assassinate other things like elites has to do with ping. The direction the enemy is facing clientside just doesn't match what the server thinks it is. So in firefight you can be behind an enemy and even get the backstab medal for meleeing them in the back, but it doesn't assassinate.
Not sure what they could do to fix this, better dedicated servers maybe?
