Is Halo: Reach incompatible with the Fall of Reach book ?
I heard a lot of stories about how they don't fit well together, but I would like to know the opinion of people who have bothe finished the Halo: Reach campaign and read the book.

I never really understood this either. The book and game take place from two different perspectives. One is from Blue Team's view and the game is from Noble Team. its not unreasonable to assume that both could have been operating on Reach at the same time. There may some slight contradictions, but people have been able to reconcile them together it's really nothing too big that would invalidate either narrative.

The book is by far better than the game and the book would have made for a better game, the book and game contradict each other in a lot of places but thankfully somewhere 343 said book canon beats game canon when it comes to reach. Bungie tried to bury the book when they made Halo Reach because of the history between bungie vs Microsoft and the Author. The Cyropod easter egg is Linda though bungie made it a MC easter egg achievement to try to bury the book further, it makes absolutely no sense for it to be Master Chief if you read the book

As far as I know no, Reach is very much compatible with Fall of Reach. As a matter of fact IIRC Noble Team makes a comment about the other teams on Reach. In the closing cutscene of New Alexdria Jun says: "Sir? That true about Gauntlet, Red, and Echo Teams assigned to civilian evac ops?" Gauntlet and Echo Teams were both SPARTAN-III teams that were on Reach at the time. But Red Team is a SPARTAN-II Team that consisted of such SPARTANS as Kelly-087, Frederic-104, and Jerome-092.

That is literally the only part of the game that coincides with the book lol

Wait what? I expected everyone just to say no. If I remember correctly Bungie said they retconned The Fall of Reach, because they didn't want to be tied down to an already told story.

take the best of both and combine them, bam. Best story of Reach

it's because of the history of the book and that bungie didnt come up with it first so they threw a fit and tried to sabotage it the best that they could, the book would have been a much better game and it would have been amazing, you can look up the history of it but Basically Bungie agreed to the book that the author and microsoft wanted if the Author of the book helped finish the script for CE with 2 other people. They finished the script for bungie and then later in life bungie ♥♥♥♥ all over the book. The book was made way before Bungie ever thought of doing Halo Reach, and as Bungies last fu to the book they made Halo Reach before giving up Halo to go make the dumpster fire that was the first Destiny

The only thing that directly contradicts the book is the Pillar of Autumn sitting on the planet waiting for Noble 6 when in the book at the same time it's jumping out of the system. Everything else just requires some suspension of disbelief (not the term I'm looking for, but the closest thing I could thing of right now.). Half the planet ignoring the other half while it's under siege is pretty dumb.

The entire thing contradicts each other, Halsey is in two places at once, Cortana is in Two places at once, Halsey doesn't know anything about Spartan 3s until the book First strike, the list goes on, there was a website at one point that listed every contradiction and I wish I could remember that site, FoR was my favorite book and ive read that thing more times than I should
