Halo: The Master Chief Collection

Grifball isn't gone just moved
The feed here is swarmed with negative reviews and bewildered rants about Grifball being removed from the game. No, it just got grouped in with the action sack playlist to stop the afk farming. This port does have issues, but the menus and the customization flaws don't stop it from being a good game! And it's on PC! The future is bright for the Halo Community! Let's keep the hype going! That's all, rant over!

Even if that's true, when I want to play Grifball right this minute it might just as well be gone. I don't want to gamble game types.

On top of that, your "everything is awesome" mindset doesn't allow well-founded criticism whatsoever. On top of the top, these are THEIR reviews, not yours.
Why is everyone complaining about Grifball being gone?

Would you shut up if I took something you like? Would you? Would you?

It was a reliable, XP friendly gamemode, it was decently fun, and it disappeared from the 24/7 gametype filters. It also appeared to be a bot haven, though, which was really rotting it at times- I don't know if that factored in its removal, but it wouldn't be particularly unrealistic.

This is all outside perspective- I never played it too much myself.
ACTION SACK - Kick back with a variety of non-traditional modes.

They don't tell you what's inside. I've been trying to play Action Sack and have not gotten Grifball since it was removed. No voting means that if I play matchmaking I have very little control over exactly what I play.
Yeah, a voting system like the 360 version or even a veto system would be way better than none.

I think criticism is important, some of my favorite games would never come as far as they have without it, and yeah, I'm not happy about grifball being sidelined because people always find way to be lazy and exploit the system, I just see all these posts complaining about grifball coming from people with just with 30 hours of gametime, and I can't help but think these are the afk farmers complaining, not legitimate Grifball fans. But please keep talking, I'm interested to see what other people think of this game. I know that for the broader Halo Community, this Bungie game was the least loved, for legitimate reasons. Armor abilities ruined the flow of combat, bloom is annoying, the retcons that invalidated the Fall of Reach novel that was pretty beloved. There's so many things I heard about over the last 10 years, but yet this is still my favorite Halo game. And it's on PC now! I never would have dreamed of it, but it's here, and it's playable. It still has a way to go before it's a complete product, and all the bad stuff from 10 years ago is still here. But it's here damnit, and I haven't been this excited to see what happens next in a long time.
What they should have done is made Slayer/Objective gametypes give more xp over all so it's best xp to play those modes. Then people playing Griffball would be the one's that actually want to play it.
i didnt enjoy grifball because half the damn lobby was afk farming so it was super boring so i didnt really care when it was moved to the action sack playlist

Thanks for your input.
The people arguing that this was a great idea because it stops AFK farming fail to understand that people were AFK farming in the first place because of the terrible progression system. 343 is literally paid to maintain the game and understand what's making the experience less enjoyable for it's playerbase. That's what we ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ gave them our money for. For THEM to not understand that, and opt, not to fix the horrible progression system so that AFK farming is no longer a thing, but INSTEAD just to MOVE the entire gamemode altogether, to shut the playerbase up by making it less accessible, is incompetent, moronic, lazy and downright unforgivable.

Anyone who's trying to see a silver lining here is viewing this mess through rose-tinted glasses.

Hahaha, no. People were afk farming because that's human nature.
People were AFK farming in the regular modes too. I would see a player running around in circles doing nothing every now and then. Grifball was the only mode where an AFK player could get kills because it required nothing more than walking forwards and attacking.

The progression system is bad, it definitely should be fixed or reworked. It should have been closer to the original's version with the credit system. But I don't think the progression system or the move to throw the gamemode in another playlist is malicious or lazy, just a result of a lack of manpower to throw at reworking the entire system as a whole. The game has only been out on PC since December for Christ sake, be patient, hopefully they have the time to come back and fix the progression system and find a better way to curb afk farming and bring back our beloved Grifball.
AFK farmers just got their nuts flogged so idc if grifball is gone lol
