As a side note, if the EAC trips on something it considers a cheat, it may log you out until you reboot the game. If I have other programs open (like listening to a podcast or leaving another game open) or a file doesn't load correctly from my external hard drive, EAC sometimes considers that a cheating risk and boots me until I restart.
I am logged in to xbox account, and I have tried the mod-able version and somehow I have even less options working for me on that one.
Edit: The other two friends playing can't customize either and has the exact same issue when switching to moddable losing options
How long did you wait once you were logged in? It can take anywhere from seconds to minutes for those options to become blue (depending on how good your connection is on that day)
Hours, my friends and I decided to say fudge it and play Reach with the 3 goons following the only guy that customization does work for. one of us has never played a halo game so felt like starting was more important than customization but it was annoying to be like:
"Hey dude sniper for yeah,"
"Ok on my way"
"Wrong guy"
"You all look the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ same"
Edit: Also I can download steam games at 48 mbs I can't imagine this being slow
Well, I have windows 10 64 bits and I can access Xbox Live just fine. So might be PC specific (OS specific maybe)
If you're playing the anti-cheat disabled version, you don't get some of the online features. Server browser, matchmaking, exchange and season points gain/spending requires the anti-cheat *enabled* launch option. It's essentially to prevent modded players from joining vanilla games as well as stopping people from cheating unlocks for vanilla. You won't regain any options using modded. The issue lies elsewhere. (Also, if you were playing on Tuesday it's possible weekly steam server maintenance had something to do with it).
Yeah seems like this is the issue.
My issue had to do with my internets nat type which was strict and this prevented me from connecting to any halo regions. once I changed my router which i knew had an open nat type everything loading.
TLDR check nat type... make sure its open
