does anyone know if the exchange will ever rotate in other items?
i own all items in halo mcc with the exception of a good chunk of the ones they added a while back for halo 2 anniversary like some of the gundam armours. while i think theyre drop dead ugly i am a collector and would love to get them but i was unfortunately too burnt out when they dropped to get them! 😞

does anyone know if theres at least a chance these items will rotate back in? it seems to just be other, seasonal stuff that i already have. which is great as it gives everyone a chance! but i wish they were more transparent about how the exchange works

thanks!

I honestly don't know what has happened regarding pending fixes & improvements to Halo: The Master Chief Collection since the beginning of the year (Chiefly, the Microsoft lay-offs that also hit 343 Industries) other than they are still on their way, but I'm sure The Exchange has understandably been a low priority or even completely unattended, even though I have observed that no game update (Or at least any large one) is required to alter The Exchange's "Routine" at all, so it strikes me as a missed opportunity to provide minor improvements while what major "CU (Content Update)" (That should include Theatre support for Campaign & Spartan Ops for Halo 4 after 10 years & one Xbox Live account that was banned presumably due to using File Share to demonstrate the results of them getting it working, unless that was just the excuse at the time) is being prepared.

Nevertheless, if they are going to finally tackle The Exchange, here's how I hope it feasibly looks like:
  • Update The Exchange to provide certain Seasonal Challenge items that have failed to be included in it for up to more than two whole years such as the 'Avalanche' paint-job for the Halo 3 Sniper Rifle (That was The Exchange's original purpose after all)
  • Fully updating The Exchange's weekly rotations to cycle between all past contents rather than repeating contents that also do not include the maximum of five items per rotation (Which was seemingly only done for the not-Series 9 contents that were stuffed into The Exchange instead and no, I will continue to be unreasonable about that)
  • Making the still-unavailable 'Law's End' either available as it should be or removing it if it is not to be made available as was done for the ONI paint-job for the Halo 3 Warthog (A shame as that was a good-looking paint-job, but perhaps visibility in Multiplayer was a concern or it never made it past the UE4 front-end)

Of course, how I actually want this to be properly addressed (Perhaps as part of the next or any other future Update) would be:
  • Take all of the Siphoned from the prior Seasons Series inventory out of The Exchange and provide them in a new Series of their own (Call it "Legacy" or "Exchanged" perhaps)
  • Take all of the not-Series 9 items added in the last update out of The Exchange and give them their own Series as they should've had to begin with (This could also include the prior inventory as well, especially as they can & have allowed for three items per unlock in the Season Series unlock trees).
  • Update the "Routine" for The Exchange to include all Season Challenge items and exclusive-to-The-Exchange items to be both a part of the Rotations (All at the 5-Items-Per-Week maximum) & readily-available options

This, for me, would absolutely alleviate the sheer amount of piss-taking I have observed The Exchange being used for to the point that they tried to justify introducing purchasing Points for real-money into Halo: The Master Chief Collection (I'm sorry, but when you both fail to use the clearly available UI resources that you were previously using for the game and when a majority of the Halo: Infinite digital purchases were "Currently available" at the time, it's clear to me who created the problem & what the solutions should be instead) and would make engaging it a whole lot less frustrating when you've got less to monitor on the weekly.

But to answer your question, no, I don't know. But since the Steam Discussions are being more keenly monitored to the point that mentioning a specific something in relation to the cancelled Halo Online can get your post deleted (I'm not bitter about it, but I do find it strange that it still causes somebody in 343i and/or Microsoft's offices bother), maybe everything I've said will get through to somebody who can action upon it, assuming they're not doing everyone the favour of working on implementing it as such already.
hi again bizargh! its nice to see you here. im still very greatful for your and everyone elses hard work ripping audio!

yeah the exchange, and really mccs reward system as a whole, is just so weird. its designed to induce fomo but without any of the supplimentary systems like microtransactions or in game events so its just weird and out of place haha. not that those systems would justify fomo because fomo is a harmful practice but typically fomo is used for a reason and i dont get what that reason is in mcc

your probably right though and asking here was a bit silly ill admit. i guess i was just hoping someone was privy to some barely known fringe info 343 shared about the confusing exchange in a random tweet somewhere. or something xd

thanks for your reply and you have excellent ideas!

You’re good dude
