How to coop split screen
Downloaded the Halo 3 multiplayer and I just want to go ahead and play co-op with my kids like old school days couch co-op. Does anybody know how to set that up? I've done everything that I can think of but I don't know how to split screen it and just do couch co-op

Can we put this mindset in the bin forever?

Why shouldn't PCs have feature parity with consoles a decade older? Don't you have friends who come to your house? Do you think PC should drop gamepad support too?

Back in the day me & my friends played splitscreen on a tiny 17 inch CRT at 576i & we all just leant in & squinted our eyes at it, didn't stop us having fun. These days you can buy a TV as big as your whole wall & plug your PC in, or run some splitters & have 9 different monitors going like you're the architect in the Matrix.

TVs and monitors even use the same video signal standards now! You can stream to your TV, some people even have a PC in their living room. Loads of home offices have multi-monitor setups or uiltrawide screens now. Between bluetooth & usb there's practically no limit to the amount of input devices you can hook the PC up with either. 'if' they chose to make split-screen work, the hardware side of things has never been in a better place to support it.

It's like we are going backwards, we have bigger screens and more powerful hardware with all these extra options,, but less and less games support split-screen. I understand it's extra work but these game's had 4 player split-screen (2 or co-op depending on the game) on their initial release on consoles and was a major factor for the franchises success.
The fact they removed it for the PC release and we have to do a work around by running a copy of the game for each player is ridicules
I remember plenty of 3D racing games in the 90's on PC that had two player split-screen so it's not like it hasn't been around close to 30 years now.

Especially when it's already in the code because it's in the xbox versions just not on pc version of mcc

It's frustrating when they just focus on making awful looking armour and banners

And there was me thinking PC releases lacking CO-OP was a thing of the past
And there was me thinking 'who tf plays splitscreen on PC?'
Hope you got a bigass monitor for that
you can use yor pc just like a console lol meaning you cann hook it up to your tv in the livingroom and play with it like a console or if you dont want to move your pc you con stream your game to your laptop (if you have one) and connect your laptop with your pc and play with it just like you would with a console.

Didn't read whole topic, but there's a second, native, if roundabout way to play splitscreen Halo 3.

1. Download the Halo 3 Editing Kit from the tools section of Steam
2. Open the local folder it installs in, and either run the H3EK bat file or just extract everything from the H3EK zip into the install folder (either works on Windows, the latter is needed for Linux)
3. Run tagtest
4. Hit the Home key and find multiplayer in the menu, and activate splitscreen
5. Profit!

Checking every sales if they added splitscreen.

No splitscreen = no money from me.
