Yes, all the halo games's campaigns are co-op compatible, just no splitscreen co-op.
Know that Halo CE Anniversary and Halo 2 Anniversary are 2 player co-op, the rest are up to 4 player co-op.
however for the campaigns solo 100% recommended
also the multiplayer aswell
but yeah co-op sucks and depends in alot of things (also has input lag so good luck on that)
It's a mess.
- Make sure both of you are running in the same FPS (60 FPS is recommended)
- The one with the best internet connection is the host
- Everyone have to turn off vsync
It's not a foolproof solution but it can at least reduce the stuttering exponentially in some cases
