Allow us to play campaign without an account login
I believe I'm not alone with this, some players do not interested in multiplayer. Could you at least make the single-player parts of the game accessible without an account?

Achievements, career progress, and settings are all tied to your account/login info, so they have the MCC set up to require you to login. As it is, most people already have a Microsoft account simply by having a Microsoft computer or having used a Microsoft app like Skype.

I know all the progression info tied to account, still there should be an option to play without all these, even achievements. I just want to play the campaign. I don't understand why would people who pirate the game have a better experience than me.

I don't have any Microsoft accounts. I created one just for this game and they blocked it. The only thing I did with that account is to play MCC. You know how bad is Microsoft with account management, it's like they don't care at all.

That's odd. Have you been able to go to the XBox Live website and access your account that way, or submitted a ticket to be unblocked?

Actually I did. They redirected me to typical Microsoft account recovery, however that required a phone number and I'm not willing to give my number to them. It stays in the limbo.

They won't do anything other than that (or without that step) and I don't want to give my number. Also checked forums, I'm not alone with this. :/

just give them your phone number then, you have the solution but you just want to complain in the forums. Stop being a sooky la la

Huh, but it's not enough. Would you look at this?:

It's an account recovery hell. It's supposedly possible to recover an account without a phone number but it's a meaningless loop and not actually possible.

Also, why you take it's normal to block a new account just to get a phone number, but it's not normal that I don't want to give my phone number to Microsoft? It's basic privacy.

To be fair, you (and a very few others) want to use a Microsoft product, originally made for Microsoft consoles and later ported to Microsoft PCs, that relies on Microsoft servers, but are upset about having to share a phone number so they can verify your Microsoft account is legitimate? You could easily set up a free google phone number to verify your account that way, but I'm guessing that the next thing you'll say is that you don't want to use google either?

Edit: To be fair, at this point there is a solution, but you don't like it. You're free to stand by your principles and not have access to the game, but that's entirely on you.

I understand but it would've been nice if they didn't push DRM so hard.
Yes, I don't have a Google account either but I actually didn't think about burner numbers. Found an app called TextFree (which has a web app). Will give it a try. So, thanks for the replies.

While I agree it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥, it's also unlikely. Every Xbox game requires an account login, so I don't think 343 could even if they had any interest.

Don't have this problem with Age of Empires games but they are not directly Xbox games I suppose. I guess I should've been careful or at least tried the game within 14 days refund time.

you could also just launch in offline mode with eac disabled

The game still requires an account login to begin with. Also that just disables multiplayer and achievements, not account login.

Struck a nerve? No, this is just how I normally write in these forums. You can check my post history, it's pretty clear this is just how I communicate. I'm a bit sad you didn't give me the Jester, because that means somebody else thought it was worthwhile to throw their hard-earned points at me after reading through this thread.

What were you googling for that lead you to here? If it's something other than bypassing the login requirements, someone might be able to give you a solid fix.

Edit: Oh, the last few comments are gone. Are the mods cleaning this thread up and locking it?

Edit 2: Wild. Someone revived this thread after nearly a year of silence and gave me points, and now after nearly another year of silence someone else is giving me points.
