"Fatal Error" when booting the game

Doesn't get any further that the xbox studios logo before crashing. No idea how to fix it, already verified files, restarted computer, etc.

Not sure if this'll work for everyone, probably some, but check what format the drive your Halo MCC is installed in. If it's an exFAT either format it, or move it, to an NTFS drive.
Fixed the problem for me.

Just bought the game a few days ago on steam. Receiving "Fatal Error" Crash message on every launch about 5 sec into the Unreal Engine intro cinematic. Tried all the fixes i could find online, no solution.

Is that the issue? Because if it is, then my game just became unplayable. I do not have the space in my laptop for this whole entire game whatsoever because of issues outside of my control. And to think, this game worked fine just a week ago.
I'd like for a 343 dev to tell us that there's a fix on the way, or even acknowledge there's a problem.

My game was working perfectly fine yesterday. I come on to boot up MCC and I just crash after a few seconds. Not even a fatal error message appears.

Edit: Had to completely re-install the game. This includes deleting the MCC folder before re-installing.

Nevertheless the issue should not be the problem of the gamers. The error is on publisher's side to solve. not on the users by copying things to a different harddrive, especially before the update everthing was ok.
I am also using external SSD harddrives, but never copied a running game when suddenly an error appears after an update.

LMFAO Imagine having to format your entire drive just to play ONE game. Something that you didnt even do. Just wont play this time to uninstall Halo MCC and just forget about it. Another game lost to time

Skill issue git gud + stop playing games on a external hard drive and buy a internal one to put it on your desktop

i'm glad i'm not the only one with this issue. hope it gets a proper fix that doesn't require me to mess around with my ssds because it really is just an issue on 343's end, not the players who just happen to store the game on a external drive.

This has apparently been going on for several days. They need to fix this. I cannot get past the startup without this stupid 'Fatal Error'.
