Fatal Error crash
Does anyone know what could be causing a fatal error crash on start up? I launch the game and once I get to the press enter screen a little white box pops up with an explanation in the tittle that goes off the square, making it impossible to read the entire thing and just says fatal error in the box. If I click the X in the corner of the box to close the game freezes and shuts down, if I click the ok the same thing happens. I can get into the main menu with the box on screen and haven't tried playing fully just yet. I was able to play the game just fine last week and there hasn't been any updates on it yet. Is there a way to fix this outside of uninstalling and reinstalling?

An update, I was able to get into a mission but the game crashed right after I got in. The title of the white box reads as follows:
"The UE4-MCC Game has crashed and will ..."
below this it says
"Fatal Error!"

Just bought the game, same issue.

Some people have fixed this by typing "-windowed" into launch options

Had this game for a couple years now, and the issue decided to randomly show up today. No one seems to have a reliable fix that doesn't involve downloading some BS external software or just uninstalling and reinstalling the game.

I think it is an update related issue, so I don't think it is necessarily random. I would give it a day and I'm sure someone will have a reasonable fix. Make sure to update your drivers if you haven't already.

I did every "Solution" in the book, everything, just wait, its not your PC's fault.
EDIT: I started my troubleshooting process right after the update was, well updated.

Yeah every time I try to go into the menu settings in game or just at the main menu of the game I'm getting a

LOWLEVELFATALERROR [File:Unknown] [Line: 340]
This application cannot be run in remote desktop

I'm playing the game on my main pc and not remotely. Odd behavior

Same over here just "installed" something just a few minutes ago, weird thing 500 MB lasted like 30 min (120 MB internet) a lot of things happening, making 30 GB space analyzing some weird steam behavior tbh i hope they correct it cause the dumb uninstall and re-install is the dumbest way to fix something wrong

Most likely a corrupt installation because of basic windows settings,

I would believe you have a windows (multitasking) display settings issue, I had the same issue before, went to (multitasking) disable show suggestions in timeline,
(Virtual desktops)setting=only the desktop I am using,
disable shared experience
disable onedrive=hence duplicate files sound fun for conflicts.
windows Display settings
=disabled HDR, to prevent multi-able versions of HDR Layering creating a memory error before crash or a horrible dark grain effect on the screen even with high gamma settings.

Updated visual C Redist
Installed windows SDK minimal basic's
Disabled added network assistance, in which is only used when contacting Microsoft for support directly and not by some scam company ran in India.
Deleted old installation configuration then validated game files.
Refer to support guides, or reach out to support
you might not have the same problem I had, we all have different hardware so its better to go through the process of safe-mode techniques to solve the problem whether its a in-compatible setting that is automatically enable or just something as simple as deleting old game appdata installed configuration files, and validating the game files after removing old ones.

Most Fatal error's are related to memory error's, most memory errors occur when setting are set to high or many more reasons that I wish not to go into, or trying to run a game that got an updated and requires the consumer to do some basic technical updates on their system to meet their new requirements for the game.

-safemode

launch augment might work, just added advice if your having issues with pre-set configuration conflicts between updates, when settings are auto configured to be set above your hardware limits, you might have a problem like I had.

I tried your methods and unfortunately none of that worked, and I also don't have remote streaming activated on my PC

Thanks for the reply though, it was definitely worth trying some of the things listed. Maybe if I delete the config file that might help but I don't know if it will do anything or where that is at.

I may just have to wait for a patch, hopefully they fix it quick

The issue seems to be fixed, I was able to play through a couple of missions the other day and have not seen the error since. The day after I made the post is when the game was working again for me.

Played Halo the other day, before the latest update. No problems. After the update I can't get past the first intro cinematic without having the crash.

This is also happening to me, will post if I find a solution. I can't actually get past the first splash screen before it crashes.
