It should be fixed.
I saw another post somewhere saying to run the game without Easy Anticheat and that should fix it - that didn't work for me. Neither did using original graphics settings instead of enhanced.
Is there really even much hope of them fixing this at this point? I don't really keep up with Halo news too much, but I thought I read something about 343 getting completely canned or taken off of Halo or something like that? That kinda makes me wonder if there's even anyone around to fix the game anymore.
We've had nothing about the Season 8 cosmetics causing Fatal Error crashes on H3, the crashes and desyncs in H2 Co-op, the issues with H2A and CE:A graphics, and I'm sure we could go on and on shouting into the void with all the problems that have existed before that which are still unaddressed.
I don't think you'll have anyone disagree with you that it needs to be fixed, or atleast anyone worth your time saying that, but what can we do with a company that refuses to be held accountable for the games they produce?
I don't think it lets you play MP that way, and I'm not sure if achievements work or not (Steam was able to recognize that I had MCC open, though, so maybe they do - EDIT: confirmed that achievements do NOT work). So there is that option if you're willing to deal with it and put in the work, although it's pretty embarrassing to have to do that kind of workaround for something that was once as mighty as Halo and is supposed to be backed up by, you know, Microsoft.
I'm pretty sure it's all perfectly legal and safe to do, but I'm not sure how it's looked upon here so I'll refrain from posting any links. But search "downpatch master chief collection steam" on youtube and you'll find video tutorials on it. Use your own discretion of course.
Totally agree, I was just putting my findings out there in case anyone came across this thread later tearing their hair out for a solution (albeit a complicated and annoying one).
An official patch is beyond needed here, in the end.
This is similar to what I did on pc too, using the tags in the mod tools from the version before the update you can compile the fixed versions of the maps for yourself and play for example halo 1 anniversary without all of the broken stuff in POA, or reach with the LNoS battle stuff restored.
