when does odst take place?
does it take place after halo 3 before reach? i cant tell when it takes place

Chronologically, as far as the story goes, Reach happens before Halo CE, and ODST happens during the events of Halo 2, with the epilogue happening after Halo 2.

As for release date, ODST was released after Halo 3 and before Halo Reach.

ODST is set DURING the events of Halo 2, specifically it starts during the end of "Metropolis". The only part of the game after Halo 2 is the end Epilogue scene.
