Any way to disable achievemnt pop-ups in singleplayer?
Playing chronologically through all Halo games and have a blast, but I find the achievement pop-ups to be distracting and unimmersive. I clicked through every menu but couldn't find it: Is there any way to switch them off? Not talking about steam achievements, but ingame ones.

Those notifications you are referring to are controlled through the Xbox Game Bar.

Press Windows key + G on your keyboard (or open Xbox Game Bar from the Start menu) to launch the Xbox Game Bar. You can then disable achievement notifications in the Settings > Notifications options.

See this article for more help: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/hardware-network/settings-updates/pop-up-notifications

Thanks a lot! I was not aware of the Xbox Game Bar. There is no notification option in the settings menu there. From screenshots I saw that it should be in the settings menu between Capturing and Voice Chat, but there is nothing: https://imgur.com/NagG3c2 (Since it is german, it should be called "Benachrichtigungen" or sth like that), but I tried what was in your link and switched off all notifications in Windows 10 (Halo/Steam/Xbox was not listed there separately). I hope that did it, thanks again.

Make sure your Xbox Game Bar app is up to date via the Microsoft Store if the option isn't showing.

I just checked myself and the setting is under Settings > Notifications > General > Notify me when I unlock achievements.

Huh, weird. The option "Notifications" is still not showing (I actually switched my pc to english just to see if it is somehow different then) and I am not sure how I would go about updating the app in the Microsoft Store. I am in there and it doesn't give me an update option, just an "open" option.

Achievement pop ups are still hapenning. I appreciate your help though (and I tried to google the missing "Notifications" option, seems to be a thing that happens to other people, but rather rare (saw someone on reddit with that problem, but without a solution).

That's odd. I'm pretty sure the option has been in there for a while so I'm not convinced that is the issue; nonetheless, best to make sure it is. Try going to Microsoft Store app > Library (bookshelf icon in bottom left-hand corner, the icon above Help icon) > Get updates (button in top right corner of the Library screen).

Not sure what else you can try other than resetting the app via Start menu > right-click Xbox Game Bar > App settings > Reset / Repair

Oh my god, I found out whats wrong!

I was not signed in with my Microsoft Account, I had to reinstall windows a couple of weeks ago and didn't bother to sign in. Just did that and now it shows the Notifications option in the settings. For whatever reason that was locked behind signing in with the Microsoft store.

Thanks a lot, without you I wouldn't even have known about the Xbox Game Bar!

Mh, sadly it didn't work. I still get notifications like "Weekly Warriors", "Eagle Eyed" etc.

I checked "Hide Notifications when I am playing a full screen game" (which I do) and "Hide HDR Achievements on this device" and I UNchecked "Notify me when I unlock achievements". Here is a Screenshit https://imgur.com/9kBy3cp

But I still get the popups all the time. Did I anything wrong?

Oh, those pop-ups! Sorry, the way it was phrased, I thought you meant the Xbox Game Bar achievement pop-ups :rfacepalm:

Those definitely are in-game: they are the challenge notifications for Weekly PvP, Weekly PvE and Tactical Exercises (formerly Seasonal Challenges) in the Challenge Hub

You can disable them easily in-game by going to Main Menu > Options & Career > Settings > Gameplay > Show Challenge Notifications > Off.

Sorry, my friend, I should've realised sooner :tgrin:

Hey,

kinda my bad, I didn't realize that there are different kind of achievements, I thought every "you did a thing" popup is an achievement.

No worries, thanks again for your help! I would have never thought about looking into the career options.
