MCC on Windows 7?
For those of you who are curious or even doubtful that MCC will release on Win 7, Microsoft is bringing DX12 to Win 7 for certain titles. They already implemented DX12 features to WOW, and said they're working with other teams to also implement DX12 to other titles.

What do you guys think? Obviously since MCC is also releasing on Steam, DX12 would be the only reason why MCC would be exclusive to Win 10, but if Win 7 now supports DX12 for selected titles, why not Halo be supported?

You're making me anxious lmao
using a pc without security updates in 2020 _should_ make you nervous.
I'm using Windows 10, and I'm up to date; however, I may have pirated some software in the past.

What happens when Windows 7 stops receiving security updates and your PC is used by some idiot Russian to attack an infrastructure service like a hospital or Fire service that has a direct impact on real people’s lives, even potentially fatal ones.

it's specific work for specific games that implement DX12 to have a compatibility band-aid that lets windows 7 systems run it to a kind-of okay level.

From what I understand it isn't really even DX12, it's just a few core components that help with multithreading. There's no DX 12 features being introduced.

Halo MCC PC requires the Windows 10 PC Xbox App, I'm not sure if that app is on Windows 7 yet, also you will have to have a 64bit OS, so sorry to Windows 7 32bit users.

much like vegans and crossfitters, windows 7 users always feel the need to tell you they still use windows 7.....

windows 7 will be resigned to the history books soon, get over it, mainstream support ended in 2015, all support is scheduled to end January 2020, you have less than a year left before you become extremely susceptible to attacks.

There is nothing wrong with the OS itself, just that it's dated now, lack of updates could possibly put the game at risk "if" MS have their own anti cheat involved, personally I don't think it's a good idea to support an OS that MS themselves will no longer be releasing security updates for which could have an impact on their very own IP. It does not strike me as a very good business decision.

Never heard MS officially say you needed the Xbox App for MCC. Link your source.

Adding Windows 7 support would only be beneficial Imho. More ways to play means higher player count. Only question is how they’ll be able to do it.

You raise some good points. If they set up an excellent anti-cheat I think it’ll work. But for the reasons you’ve stated I agree they most likely won’t.

Microsoft's anticheat actually got added to Windows 10 in an update last year. It's called TruePlay
