Can you play Halo game in Windows 7?

Yush, i just wondering that because Halo Wars 2 you can't play in Windows 7, it's request Windows 10 to play that. I have windows 10 but, because my friend have only Windows 7, i just wondering to ask, can he play this Halo game in Windows 7.

Yeah plus, if you dont install an update for roughly a year, then microsoft wont give you any support. Which pretty much Make you have to update

i'd like to note windows 10 makes up about 65% of steam users, which means they get about 35% less money if they make it win10 only.

How many of those users are in China though? This title probably won't be released in that region.

I hope it supports Win7. Maybe its better now, but last time i tried win10, it was on part with Win8's horrible support for older games.

Its already hard enough to get early 3d games working on PC, i dont want to fight the OS as well

I would guess it would need Windows 8.1 or higher.

I just upgraded to Windows 10 myself (from 7) after holding out for a long time, but Sunset Overdrive needed something better than 7.

There's a big chance that Halo through Steam will work on Windows 7, but I would just recommend to upgrade to Windows 10 instead or even Linux and then play through Steam Proton.

You mean the "free" upgrade where Microsoft hid the Windows 10 installer in Windows Update as first an optional security update, and then a few weeks later as a recommended security update? The "free" upgrade where Windows 10 was installed despite people NOT wanting Windows 10 and some people ending up with bricked PC? That "free" upgrade?

Although you cant say with 100% certainty, all the other Windows 10 Xbox games have supported Windows 7 and 8 when they came to Steam (Quantum Break, Recore, Sunset Overdrive, Killer Instinct, etc). Microsoft have, or are just about to, release DX12 for Windows 7. And i'm pretty sure i read ages ago that Steam doesn't allow Windows 10 only games on Steam, games have to support all currently supported Windows OS, hense why all the other 'Windows 10 only' UWP games supported 7 and 8 when coming to Steam.
So chances are, it will work on Windows 7 and 8.

I know there was supposed to be some distant shadow problem, but there was a fix you do for it. Didnt notice any texture problems myself. When a game isn't supported, it usually means the game wont run at all on the os.

Certain DX12 games will be able to run on Win7, they aren't wholesale releasing DX12 on Win7.

Not true. And even if it was Windows 7 is losing support in less than a year.

Just because it runs on Windows 7 doesn't mean it natively supports it. A lot of older games run on Windows 10 just fine but they obviously weren't made to run on it.

lmao no. if u can install the game on win 7 through steam then yes but from what i understand u can only get it from the windows store. windows store games have all the files locked which u cant even access them.
