MCC dev team is one of the best dev teams in the modern gaming industry presently.
Absolutely insane the level of support, content and frequent updates we are getting for this game. Hats off to the dev team. Insane. Love you guys.

There have been some highs and some lows. Throughout the course of its development on PC, the transparency was always appreciated with the monthly blogs and weekly development updates.

Of course, now with Halo Infinite existing, the updates and content for MCC are less so. The latest blog on the cut content being restored was really appreciated but for me, it's hard to maintain that appreciation when just a few weeks before they announced they're "exploring" microtransactions in MCC, despite constantly affirming they wouldn't do that.

There have been other things which I haven't liked so much. Mostly things have been good but those few issues kinda do ruin the experience a bit for me.

Agreed. I appreciate that they've made these games readily available on modern systems, and that they're still updating them to this day.

Can you stop trolling people with your propaganda? it would be appreciated. Thank you! :)<3
What propaganda? Lol. That's hurtful, my feelings aren't propaganda. That's not appreciated :( </3

but it looks like they are focused on other things currently so they might not finish the MCC for awhile if ever.
This is to be expected. They talked about it in the last blog post for MCC last year. Which I have broken up below for more readability.

As we think about the future, we’ve had a lot of conversations around how to best support MCC once Halo Infinite’s free-to-play multiplayer is up and running.

We’ve agreed on two key points:
  • One, we have more MCC work to do and support will continue
  • Two, as a studio it’s not ideal to run and continue shipping seasonal updates for two different multiplayer titles concurrently.

So, while we very much have more updates coming – including more content, fixes, and features – the manner in which they are delivered is expected to shift. Starting next year, we’re targeting pivoting away from our current seasonal model and cadence to instead focus on smaller MCC updates that can land when they’re ready based on development status and studio roadmap alignment. These updates will continue to be free and will include the unreleased features and content from this year – as well as a continued effort to improve stability and tackle legacy fixes where possible. We still have a lot of goodness to deliver in 2022.

Also, here they reaffirm their desire to continue to work with the community on fixes after this year is over.
Once we have wrapped up the updates throughout this year, the team will continue to engage with the community and find areas of opportunity to adjust as needed for MCC.

Though, given their how they handled their promises on not adding monetisation in MCC who knows if you can trust them :P

They literally killed the game. It last for 2 weeks on release and no one plays anymore. Atleast where I am. Only thing that people play still is custom games because the matchmaking was rooted from the beginning. The release was too rushed.

For Halo Infinite, yes, but this game, MCC, has been receiving constant updates and new seasons for years. Game has been supported by the devs all this time, they've been constantly fixing bugs. glitches and for all of the games in the MCC.

I know some people are a bit disenfranchised with MCC since the game launched back in 2014 a complete and broken mess. It took 7 years to get it where it is now, in terms of stability and content most of which has been developed over the past 2 years. So understandably some people still feel burned since they invested in the game back at launch. It took a PC launch to actually fix and update the game.

Despite the timeframe, I do think 343i deserve credit for sticking by the game and not leaving it in the abysmal state they launched it in. They kept many of their promises and the game is better for it as of current.

There are some changes I don't agree with, most recently, "exploring" microtransactions as I discussed before but it's nice to see things like Halo CE and Halo 2 restored to near parity with the original Xbox releases or restoring the Halo Online armours for use in Halo 3 among other things.

What they are doing with restoring cut content is pretty cool and I hope they continue to restore parity with original releases of the games in MCC. Infinite is the focus now so updates will be slower, as expected but there is an update coming later this summer

you're trolling, right?

Surely, 343 killed H:I but it took them 7 damn years to optimize and fix MCC.

And now they're thinking about adding shop like in H:I ... You're coped out of your mind
7 years of constant updates. Considering there's a total of 6 different games in the MCC, that's about 1 year each of support per game and its still on-going, it's very acceptable if you break it down and look at the numbers.

That's not true. After abandoning the game shortly after launch, they didn't announce plans to fix/finish the game until 2018. We then got MCC PC at the end of 2019, and from there we had 2 years of steady updates until the launch of Infinite. Now the updates will be less frequent

I guess you missed the few years where they left XBox MCC a complete unfinished mess before bringing it to PC and leaving us with half working games with no split screen as we were told it would have. Or them telling us no Microtransactions only to add in Microtransactions.

This reeks of someone who has absolutely no idea what they're talking about.

We are all on Steam and I only play on Steam. Therefore I am only referring to the support the game has received while on Steam. What happens to the game off Steam is not my concern or problem.

Right, but still you can't really say 7+ years of content and updates. You can say 2½ years of support and updates, since that's how long the game has been on PC and recieving support.
