Halo 2 has poor optimization in campaign and in multiplayer, mostly campaign. I have a 1400$ rig and my frame rate tanks, or it stutters...
Also pretty sad when we consider that the MCC started as Halo 2 Anniversary then the other games were added, then 4, and later ODST and Reach, yet H2A still runs like ♥♥♥♥. The game the series was built around is broken, the game I bought this series for is still broken. /smh
At least Halo Infinite will not have this problem of juggling too many optimized engines.
I'd say some kind of optimization was broken when Halo: Reach was added to MCC, I do hope it is resolved sometime in the future, but so far it's not even a known issue in Halo Waypoint support
I saw it being talked about on Halo Waypoint recently on the support forums, but yeah it's strange how it isn't even a known issue for 343.
Digital foundry made a good review about the MCC Halo 2. At the end of the video he talks about the stuttering and fps drops. Apparently this is not a hardware issue but probably the game engine beeing poorly optimized for the pc.
We can only hope that the developers will fix this in a future update. Keep in mind that this is issue has existed since release... So my expectations are low.

Yeah I've seen people talking about this for a long time, classic works okay but I really wanna do a playthrough with the anniversary graphics. Let's hope it gets fixed but yeah I'm not holding my breath honestly.
Right click on desktop > Nvidia Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings > Program Settings > Add Halo: The Master Chief Collection > Scroll down to Vsync and select "Adaptive." > Apply then exit.
Played through Outskirts again which was dipping into the teens. Now it only dips to 59. Hopefully this helps any of you out.
