Issue with Halo MCC running in the background

Okay guys i'm stuck. Every time I run Halo MCC it starts running in the background but I never can see it. I hear the music and I see it run in the task manager however I cant see it. i've read and seen where people have gone into the Multitask settings and change the virtual desktop settings to all desktops however that doesnt change anything. Any ideas??

Putting the game into borderless video mode fixed my issues related to that.

It's crazy I'm having the same problem in 2024.. I've completed the 1st game started halo 2 and this has just started to happen.

Same but only after I alt-tab back to desktop, I just learned to never alt-tab otherwise I'll never be able to get back into the game

An old post but a persistent problem, I usually have to manually stop the game in steam and restart. Sometimes it attempt to get back in the game, but my controller no longer works if it does manage to return.

It has nothing to do with your game files, it's a problem with how your operating system is displaying programs/windows, so try the advice linked in comment #8.
