Classic Shotgun cut from Halo Infinite
Sad days. Thankful I've always got MCC at least. The shotgun was special and saved for special moments. That's why it looks like it isn't used as much when you just look at "data" and don't actually play the game. You would find it on the map, be happy, and held onto it for a special moment where its use would be perfect, and the payoff felt amazing. I don't want a less powerful rapid fire Frankenstein. Shotgun go pow. If you do it from a certain range the guy dead. That's it. Please stop. COD has shotguns so why would they do this. Just work on the crappy stuttering graphics, make Craig a featured character who fights by your side, and don't make an ad campaign that misrepresents the story. Is it that hard?

I think that was a brute with a stolen Bulldog, like they were using some unsc weapons in Halo 2 in places.

This sounds like a BS excuse for 343 to just put their own spin on things (yet again), no offense.
Less-used isn't a valid reason to replace a weapon, on virtue that the shotgun is already a specialised tool that works great in specific situations, and isn't meant to be a catch-all weapon.

Also Bungie could never get the shotgun right either, the only game where the shotgun worked great was the Halo CE shotgun, the gun could easily pellet enemies and heavily damage them outside its one-shot-kill range, giving it good mid-range firepower, with a massive clip, and instant-kill close range firepower.

Later games thought it was a good idea to completely remove pellets after something like 8-9 metres if I recall, which just led to enemies not being damaged at all shortly outside the kill radius. Cool.

Why they never copied the Halo CE performance is anyone's guess, I know they did increase the shotgun range in Halo 5, but that game plays so vastly different that it was practically a requirement for the range to increase.

It seems that the new shotgun merely reloads a bit faster while being less powerful. Hopefully not too less powerful. I just hope they don't do the aiming down the sites thing like in Halo 5. Made short range weapons effective at long range. Halo has always been a series where every weapon served their own purpose. Then Halo 4 came along and did away with that idea. Really hoping Halo Infinite returns to that. And for crying out loud, bring the plasma rifle back!

Its a new type of shotgun that can reload faster, perhaps hold more ammo, and does less damage. The question is if the main shotgun will return as well.

the main shotgun was just a gun bungie didnt even want to balance and have had multiply reworks on how it should be used. i don't really mind it being cut for a new shotgun that can atleast be something other than melee range weapon

There should definitely be a beefy shotgun, just for those couple of satisfying blasts at the least

Yeah, they seem to like human shotguns. They may have also used them in Halo 3 but I'm not sure.

Yeah, they seem to like human shotguns. They may have also used them in Halo 3 but I'm not sure.

Quite funny that the bulldog and brute shotgun are already being confused, leading one to wonder why create the new weapon in the first place not to mention taking away the classic.

Halo 1 shotgun is best shotgun both in looks and distance. However I still greatly enjoyed every shotgun except for Reach and h4. Can't really put a finger on why but it might be because it looked kinda clunky unlike halo 2 shotty which is a bare bones razor sharp deadly weapon that is fun to use. Would like to see the CE shotgun again though. The promethean thing seemed to do the job and rapid enough for 343 but would rather not see those stupid bullet sponges again.

The classic shotgun has not been cut or replaced... All 343 said is that the bulldog was made to expand shotgun game play. The bulldog is not a power weapon so the UNSC close quarters power weapon will still be in the game. There is NO REASON to think the addition of a new shotgun will cut older weapons when the new weapon is designed for a new roll.
