Why do so many people use controller?
As far as I know, there's no cross-platform. I've always used keyboard and mouse, but usually 90% of people in my games are playing with a controller? Is there a reason for this? Is it just a nostalgia thing or is the aim assist really good or what?

Multiplayer and Firefight are cross-platform unless you change the input-based matchmaking setting. The only non-cross-platform things in the MCC are the Campaigns. Plus, some people have all of their old reflexes tied to the controller, and find it easier to not have to retrain everything to keyboard.

It is cross-play though.

That said, que the regurgitated arguments on this forum about controller and mouse in 3, 2, 1...

Majority of multiplayer population is old halo players

Not many new players play the multilayer because it's old and better games are available

There is cross platform play. Most of the playerbase is on PSN. Yes, controller AA is ridiculous. I used to top play charts with KBM with a KD ratio of 23. One day I plugged in a controller and it was like the game just.... took over. My KD ratio went to 78. I would click the trigger and get kills on players I didn't even see on my screen. The game stopped being fun.

Don't get a controller. The only way I can describe using it is to simply say, "when Alexander saw the breadth of his domain, he wept, for there were no more worlds to conquer."

Ever since I stopped playing my KD ratio increased to 88 and I have somehow gone up a few ranks. The controller is still plugged in, but my computer isn't even on.... what hath I wrought?

Edit: no, not really. There is cross play but when controller vs KBM is invoked, sometimes I feel Twitter political discussions are less contentious.

Aim assist is kinda broken so people mostly use it for that

God... Another one, people play controller because its what they are comfortable with, most always played on console, it is crossplay and no the aim assist isn't overpowered its just there to make controllers usable against mouse and keyboard, ibmm is a thing, doesn't have many players blah blah blah all that crap, God posts about controllers got boring after the first month.... ITS BEEN OVER A YEAR

The nostalgia is the primary reason for me

crossplay

i think its mainly due to the rapid movements a controller can offer in comparison to k and m

So can mnk and usually more consistently I mean halo is simple even via pc shooter standards, you dont have to be pressing 1234567 for different gadgets.

See this is why all the controller vs KBM threads are just a pain to even read. Half the time people are just straight up wrong or lying out their ass never having tried both. Since dude the only reason to use a Mouse is the rapid movements. You can do a 180 headshot instantly. Or do all kinds of broken stuff with the Banshee when you can 180 turn. To do it on controller requires jacking sensitivity up so high you can't aim precisely. Mouse has fast turns, and Sniping easy mode. Controller has autoaim assist that makes shooting targets that are trying to strafe dance back an forth easy. That's about it.

Anyway the dude above is correct most people playing MCC are Xbox players or old vets out of nostalgia so they use controller. All the casuals these days are playing COD or Rainbow Six Siege or some crap ass Battle Royale.

Because we just enjoy watching these threads pop up asking questions that have been answered (both honestly and dishonestly) again and again and again.

...we're easily amused around here.
