Halo 3 ODST Hunters

Anyone have any tips on fighting ODST hunters? pretty much just using either heavy weapons or plasma grenades to fight them as I my character doesnt move fast enough to circle around them. Not to mention i seem to get hit by the hunters melee attacks when they are nowhere close to hitting me and launch me 20 feet away.

You need both in otfer to kill both hunters. Using only one is not reliable at all. Try that and the second hunter is gonna engage you in combat not only that you can only carry 3 plasma grenades. Keeping away from melee distance is key.

the only two points in the game (where killing hunters is required to progress) have mounted turrets in the area. I just use those to shread the hunters, and run past them whenever I don’t have to kill them

What about firefight. I mean if you have no heavy weaponry then what do you do? I mean it's a rare situation in firefight but when it does happen it's terrifying. I've had that problem since the 360 days

You can try to use the terrain to separate and get behind them. Plasma weapons also have bleed-through against hunter armor(needles and most bullets just bounce off.) A stuck grenade will blow off their back armor, making it easy to shoot a shotgun or sniper into it. Otherwise, just blast them with heavy weapons. Note that the shotgun in ODST is pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, though - same as Halo 3, with only 6 world units of maximum range(which is just barely more than an energy sword's lung range)

If it's the hunters you occasionally encounter on mombassa streets, just find another way around or run from them. Usually not worth the ammo to try and fight them.

Also what mounted turrets? I can only recall one area where you have to kill hunters and mounted turrets are nearby (ONI Alpha Site) but what's the second? If its Tayari Plaza you can run by the hunters and skip them, if It's Coastal Highway that area doesn't have any mounted turrets and Mombasa Streets has hunters that can also be evaded if you are stealthy.

For the past 5 or 6 years I've owned odst on Xbox 360 never have I known that
