Halo running in the backround but not on taskbar

Sometimes when I alt-tab out of halo it disappears off the taskbar but I can still hear the game audio running in the backround and I can't figure out how to get back in without restarting the game. Is there any way I can get back into the game when this happens or prevent it?

It's a known issue. A quick method is to make the game borderless-fullscreen and it will fix it.

Alternatively, you can do this: "When your game disappeared from your taskbar, open your Windows setting, go to Systems, Multitasking, and under "Virtual Desktop" box, select "All Desktops"

I had this issue as well.

Windows Settings -> Multitasking settings -> under "Virtual Desktops" change options to "All desktops" from "Only the desktop I'm using". It will work.

This worked for me. It puts all open tabs on the task bar.
