I have no issues playing shooters with a controller; despite what irrelevant pc elitists think of them. However, I do prefer aiming with a mouse over my thumb and Halo is no different.
right.
so, in real life (not the pc mustard race world that you all live in) Halo is the series that popularized controllers for FPS and made console shooters more enjoyable.
anyone who says 'hurr durr no controller 4 fps' is a troglodyte with no real logic behind their argument. just the same old, tired, stupid pc mustard race elitism.
On another note, and at the risk of being accused of elitism myself, if you can't play, and play well, with MKB, controller, joystick, guitar hero controller, and any other gaming apparatus, you are not a real gamer; you are quite simply a noob, and need to git gud.
Because at the end of the day, skill is all that matters. And skill translates into knowing what is likely about to happen next + knowing the best way to react to it. If you're actually good at the game, you should be able to do those two things regardless of your input.
there is no other genre were controles get an "assist" software, they don't have a "combo assist" for beat em ups or a "stearing assist" for racing games
hence shoters aren't ment to be played with controlers the same way beat em ups aren't meant to be played with mouse and keyboard
^^ there is the logic
The dude trying to rage about how controllers aren't meant for shooters is a fool but seriously? It's a damn video game. You waste your time looking at colored pixels on a screen that turn in to different pixels when you press a button. You're not part of some sacred order. You're not part of some important organization. Going on a tirade about who is and isn't a "real gamer" is just ridiculous and sounds like something a grade schooler would scream because they're still having trouble differentiating between fantasy and reality and think that playing a video game means they actually are doing the things they saw a character do on-screen.
A "real gamer" is anybody who enjoys playing video games. Period. They don't have to be good at it, they don't have to adhere to arbitrary nonsense. If they enjoy games, and they actively play games, they're a "real gamer".
Learn to chill out and stop acting like being involved with the single most mainstream and widespread form of entertainment makes you part of some exclusive club. It's embarrassing.
