All I can think of is you unlocked an item for a halo game you either don't own or don't have installed causing you to see this message and being unable to find it in options and careers.
If that is not the case you could always try to verify your game files to see if that fixes it.
I did the verify files 2x. Everything is fine. Moved game to different drive. Same issue. Guess I'll try to uninstall and reinstall. Thanks for the help.

EDIT: Did you unlocked a Keystone helmet from the Exchange? Maybe you should look under Halo 4 armor customization?
