Not at all.

It's a marker of success in a video game, which--outside of some exceptionally rare circumstances--is not a marker of success or worth in any way that *matters*.

Play. Have fun. You'll do well sometimes, and poorly others. That's the way it works.

Obsessing over K/D is a recipe for hypertension, and not much else.

My mentality has always been that, as long as it doesn't drop beneath a certain threshold, you shouldn't care at all. That's different for everybody, and I've played with people that have wayyyy worse K/D than me, yet womp me in game.

At the end of the day... It really doesn't matter. It's just something we can look at as something we have achieved, which honestly really means nothing in the face of reality. Unless you're an E-sports sponsored pro where you can make money playing an FPS, and it can serve as a kind of resume of sorts, K/D genuinely means nothing.

In fact, the only value it has is what we place upon it. Which other than hypersensitive competitive players, means very little.

Its honestly just bragging rights if you have a good K/D and/or if you are the type who feeds on bragging rights.

Also, K/D doesn't necessarily mean skill level and such. What happens when you become a zombie in a matchmade infection game and you get a K/D of 1/50. That doesn't mean you're bad, you're just playing a gamemode which is supposed to be one-sided.

from someone who has an average K/D of like 1.35 (aka barely above average), don't hyper fixate on it. spend more time on the game and you'll get better with it and more confident to the point that survival is more attainable in matches. you can also adopt a more conservative playstyle if you find being aggressive is getting you killed too many times.

Look at it this way, if you are new.. your K/D is gonna be bad. It's a learning curve.

When you are fighting skilled people, the same level as you or greater your K/D should be between 0.9 and 1.3. This is where most pros average their KDs in tournies.

Now since Halo MCC really doesn't offer much... in terms of competition, even in ranked. I'm sitting at 2.5. If I was fighting more people my level it will go down to like 1.3-1.5 at least.

Only use K/D as a stepping stone for improving yourself, nothing more.
