Halo CE customizations online only?
I'm pretty new to Halo: MCC and I'm still learning about these "Seasons" and their rewards, but I bought a bunch for Halo CE and I equipped them in the Customization menu from the Main Menu, but when I play the campaign offline I do not see any of the changes I made to my character. Is the customization feature strictly for online only?

Only multiplayer. The original versions of CE and 3 didn't have visor color options, or weapon/vehicle skins so those have to be enabled in options (under "gameplay," I think. Once enabled, while playing Multiplayer modes, you will see custom skins that you and other players have selected.
Halo 2 only has color options and an Elite/Spartan toggle, Halo 4 has multiplayer selections that only effect multiplayer but don't have to be enabled in the options first. Reach's customization affects the way your Spartan (and Elite) looks throughout all modes in Reach.

IIRC They tried to implement the skins into singleplayer but it wasn't working.

If this is the case, is this something that the devs are working on? Or is it one of those forgotten things that no one really cares enough about to keep bringing it up to the devs?

Never say never, but as of right now it's at the very most on the backburner with Split-Screen and Crossplay Co-op or possibly a Co-op Netcode rewrite.

Ahh okay. So just to confirm, this is only an issue for Halo CE and only when it's played offline? Or is it an issue for Halo CE in any game mode? Or is it an issue in multiple games/gamemodes?

It's an issue for the campaign only AFAIK, not sure if it's an issue in other games outside of Reach though.

That's not too bad then, it could be worse. Thanks for the info

Reach is the only Halo game that lets you play as your own custom character. Master Chief is always a unique character model used only for single-player. I don't remember them saying they had any plans to put multiplayer models into the single player mode in any of the other games.

I don't completely understand what you mean since despite having all 6 games I've only played the first one and just campaign for nostalgia. Could you explain?

Armor customisation is not ever going to be added for the singleplayer games, my mistake, I was referring to the weapon and vehicle skins they added later.

You're only playing as your custom character in Reach.

I think I misunderstood, too. I thought OP was referring to custom visor colors and such, like Reach. I didn't know they intended to add those weapon/vehicle skins, too, but I don't really see that happening either. It would be a lot of work for very little benefit.

A good example is the purple shotgun skin I got, it doesn't show up in offline. So when does it show up? They didn't make rewards that can't be used, so when/how can I use them?
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
