Any plans on adding ADS (Aim Down Sights)?
I have mix feeling about this game. on one hand I like the action and playing a new game is always fun and all but its really weird to me that developers making a remaster without adding an option for a world wide accepted mechanic like ADS. You can tell me I should've done my research better and all that but honestly thats the last thing I could think of for fps game not to have. it feels weird and my shots are always all over the place despite reading some posts about how hipfire equals to ads in halo thanks to magic helmet or whatever so consider me not convinced. I expected better after all the hype. I'm hoping they could add an option for it but I know I'm most likely kidding myself. if it will ruin multiplayer somehow then it can only be implemented for coop - singleplayer campaign. Pretty please?

Remaster =/= Remake

Don't expect 343 to change gameplay mechanics in MCC. That's not the main intention for this collection.

Halo has always seperated itself by its gun play and only making certain guns (e.g Precision guns like the carbine and BR) have ADS so it makes the multiplayer and the campaign a thinking game so that someone cant pick up any gun in the game and shoot people across the map like in halo 5 which was why it was viable to use any gun at any distance without changing the game majorly. thats really why there isnt any ADS in the games prior to halo 5 except the precision weapons and the general zoom with other weapons

Ads was in halo 5 and it was polarizing to say the least. Keep it out

ADS is a design decision, not a feature upgrade.

ADS encourages slower, longer ranged fights with a "stop and pop" mentality. Halo is about short to medium range fast engagements while on the move.

ADS is not a "world wide accepted feature" rofl. There are brand new shooters being released right now that don't have ADS. i mean seriously, are the only other shooters you've ever played the COD franchise? The newer DOOM games for example have been hugely successful with no ADS. Have you been living in a cave with a copy of Modern Warfare 4 or something?

ADS is for milsims, Halo is not a milsim.

Sure I have played doom where you can shoot your enemy and stagger them then you can execute them to get your health back. so its not the same. doom is a great game so I can overlook that it has no ads because its fun. this feels like the opposite of fun for me. I shoot the aliens they dont slow down they dont stagger and they keep shooting you with 100% accuracy. I thought everyone is living in a cave thanks to Corona Virus :P some games dont need it but this one definitely feels like it could use it.

why not make it optional instead of keeping it out?

Because it's a remaster, not a remake.

What's the point in having an optional feature that does nothing? It can't be functionally different than normal aiming if it is truly to be optional.

No it isn't going to be added to MCC. I don't personally mind it in Halo 5, it sort of makes sense for Spartan Locke and Osiris Team somehow. I guess they feel more like a stealthy highly trained infiltration squad who might fit in other shooters than a group of outer space superheroes the way Chief and the rest of the Spartan IIs do so it fits as the campaign was originally going to be even more focused on them.

The only part of MCC that really has it is ODST with the silenced smg, which has a mild enough zoom that it feels a bit like aiming down the sights for them.

Anything with a health bar tends to flinch when shot. so you are either talking about elites, brutes in halo 3 or hunters. or prometheans in halo 4

Halo does not have ADS for most weapons because it is balanced that way. only weapons with ADS are headshot capable weapons because accuracy benefits them.

The only enemies that don't really stagger at all are Prometheans in Halo 4. Shielded Elites stagger once their shields are down, Brutes stagger once you get through their armor, even Hunters can stagger if you hit them in a soft spot with a powerful weapon (anything orange basically, most players go for the back), which is very doable without iron sights with a little practice.

Because it’s garbage in halo. Just like how halo 5 is seen as overall garbage

Because it would fundamentally alter the function of many of the weapons, and as an "option," it would provide some folks in MP with a decisive ranged advantage over those choosing *not* to use said option.

Spartans don't need ADS. Their HUD tells them where the bullets will land. That's why you have a targeting reticle.
