Anyone else unable to use text chat in MP?

So I can open it like usual with J or the right stick (I think its those right?) but I can't use tab (or RB) to change from SQUAD to TEAM or ALL. I'm pretty sure its not just a me problem because I don't see literally anyone else using it, and its been like this for days. I'd have posted sooner but I was banned lol.

Unfortunately, they've killed chat off with this latest update by disabling it by default with a confusing UI change, adding in incredibly strict mandatory word filters and message throttling. To re-enable what's left of it, you need to go to your game settings and change the default chat mode from 'squad' to 'all'.

As far as I can gather, even if you change your chat to allow you to type in team/all, nobody can read it unless they've explicitly enabled it, so you'll likely just be taking to yourself either way.

Open your Xbox live privacy setting page at
https://account.xbox.com/settings
and change your options from the default 'block' to 'everyone'

If you're stuck only in Squad chat and want to open the other channels, open the Accessibility settings, and switch your chat availability from SQUAD to TEAM or ALL.

For anyone who's chat is gone completely. Go to
C->users->your name->appdata->locallow
and delete the MCC folder. You'll have to fix all your settings but it will bring back the chat.

Woah! That's overkill. That will also delete all campaign progress, all recently played games, all custom gametypes and maps, and all recent theater replays.

If you want to nuke it go to
C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\LocalLow\MCC
and spare the "LocalFiles" and "Temporary" folder. Then tell Steam to verify local files so the game can redownload any critical files.

Tried that and a bunch of stuff got messed up. Couldn't open the career menu or save settings anymore. Verifying files didn't restore anything and the game itself seemed unaware of the missing files. It only worked when I deleted the MCC folder itself at which point running the game restored it.

doesnt help either did switch to all but i cant even open the chat with J
also i cant change the keybind for the chat which i usually had on C but when i change it it automatically changes back to J but no matter which keybind cant open chat anyway
