Im personally loving H4, and I've been playing halo since 2001.
I used to adore H3, but now... well, i dont think is as good as I remembered it.
Halo 2 is still really strong, and H4 is definitely better than the burning trash pile that is Reach, so no. I dont see why people hate this game, and I can assure most of the people that hate it for "muh design" haven't really read the novels with a lot of attention, as H4 is the pinnacle of broken characterization arc for Master Chief and Cortana, even if you think that the delivery is not really that good.
This. All of this.
*shrug* different people, different tastes. Its as simple as that.
We have similar perspectives, i'm loving 4, I hated it when it came out, but it's grown on me. I became more open to the entire premise when I started reading about the lore.
Halo 3 was a great game I just couldn't like place it anywhere as I would once when I played it again. I think h3 aged pretty badly. H2 is solid, gunplay is very fast. My other gripe with 3 is the sudden change in atmosphere, idk I personally didn't find 3's atmosphere to be as compelling as CE and 2's but thats just me.
Problem with the new sprint is that it prevents you from shooting now which makes for an inconvenience which shouldn't exist because of the suits.
In the other games it always felt more like the enemy was simply less numerous and weaker but still intelligent on lower difficulties while they got upgrades to armour and health on higher difficulties with maybe a few more troops added into the mix to give you a challenge.
Meanwhile, in Halo 4, it feels more like difficulty is determined by how many Fuel Rods the enemy has or if you're going to be seeing Jackals volley fire you with Beam Rifles as if they're from the Napoleonic War while the AI never seems to get any more intelligent, often times they all just conga line towards you just begging to get domed or dodge into danger, I've had Elites dodge roll off of Cliffs for no reason as well as Banshees barrel rolling into trees or rocks like they're trying to prove that they can't die only to get proven wrong.
If: damage 1>
Then: Walk Left/Right
With almost every other Halo on MCC, I played through the campaign, and then dabbled into multiplayer.
