Audio Cuts out at menu
Hey everyone, I know some people still have this issue roaming around after all these months and i'd like to say if people haven't figured it out yet, that i managed to fix the issue.

I use the Steelseries Arctis 7 headset and whenever I opened the game it would cut all sound for my entire computer. I managed to fix it by going to the legacy windows sound by searching for "Change System Sounds" and selecting the playback tab. From there I selected the audio output that I want to use (In this case it's Steelseries Arctis 7 Game) and set that to be my default for both microphone and audio.

For some reason this game decides it's a good idea to ♥♥♥♥ with all my audio settings, changing defaults willy nilly and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ everything up in the process without saying anything.

Hopefully this helps people if bluetooth isn't their issue.

I hadn't played in a while, but noticed this issue with my Bluetooth headphones when I logged in recently. Normally when a game does this, it's Windows 10 deciding that my BT headphones or speakers are a communications device, because they have mics built into them, and muting the audio in case I get a call or something. I don't use my PC for speaking remotely to other humans, ever, but yeah.

Well, I tried disabling the headphones' mic, which usually works; no dice. I tried your method, which also did not work. The second I'm "logged in," the sound cuts out. It only returns for a few seconds after I click to exit to desktop. 🤷‍♂️

EDIT:
Alright, got it. What finally worked for me is to disable the headphones' mic in the "Recording" tab, AND the hands-free headset option listed in the "Playback" tab of the Sound options window. Sheesh.

Yeah it seems Bluetooth headphones break it in different ways, I've tried other people's solutions of fixing it with bluetooth headphone and they didn't work for me, Glad to know you found a solution though!

My friend recently fixed this with his Bluetooth speaker by using separate devices for his Playback and Recording. The game messed up his audio because it was trying to use the same thing for both tasks. He set it to his stereo for out, his desk mic for input.

I turned off hardware accelerated audio in the properties of my playback device. After clicking apply, the sound came on
