It really is.

Thankfully you can just stand on the left side of the gondola (the side where the first group of Flood jump down to attack you) and the Flood won't be able to find you or even detect you after all your allies die, so long as you don't draw attention to yourself.

Just AFK there until you hear Tartarus' Phantom shoot the Flood and you are near the end of the ride. I tried to fight and kill the Flood, but there are just too many Shotgun Flood for it to be worth my time.

i felt that the gondola ride wasn't as bad as the first open section with the wraith and the gausshog where it's almost RNG whether you'll aggro the gausshog before picking off the wraith or not

the only annoying thing about the gondola is if you make the mistake of going down the ramp and getting one-shot by a shotgun flood

Go inside tunnel
Stay quiet and wait before tartarus say "go arbiter, get me icon!"
Just go to the icon (all/the most flood will be on top level)

I like quarantine zone because of reclaimer ost, tanks, so many vehicles and gondola part where you really care about your elites as your last teammates.
Also, it's the easiest level for 3 hours legendary achievment.

Yeah, I ususally try it 3-5 times before I can pass. My biggest issue is bad weapon loadouts, can't hit th eFlood at the balcony. After they attack more opnely easier. However I still kill 1-2 of my teammates.
