Halo 2 Anniversary keeps changing to Classic Graphics

Hi, I have been playing through the Halo 2 Anniversary campaign on Anniversary graphics.
Everything was fine until halfway through Delta Halo level, the part where I go over the sea. Then it switched to Classic Graphics. No matter how many times i start the later levels in Anniversary mode, with the anniversary graphics selected, it will always switch back to Classic graphics midway, either in middle of combat or after a cutscene.

I don't know how to fix this but this shouldn't happen. Any ideas?

I am running i7-7700K 4.20 GHz, GTX 1060 6 GB, 16 GB DDR4, 144 Hz monitor, there's no reason the game should just switch back to Classic, I can run anniversary graphics in 200 fps +

Are you hitting the tab key by accident a lot? That's the only reason I can think of why it would be switching on you like that.

I don't think so.

If I do hit it, I am hitting shift+tab to open steam overlay, but I did that plenty of times before Delta Halo and the graphics didnt't change.

Also, hitting tab changes graphics? I was searching for the key to change it instantly, because I saw speedrunners being able to hit a key and change it.

to be fair I didnt know this until I read this posting. I had always played Halo on console.
