I didnt really see phantoms being a problem in campaign.
it is pretty annoying that the phantom turret is so powerful you're pretty much required to take cover, unless you feel like wasting 2 plasma grenades. ( you do get sticky medals for it doe )
A good tip for dealing with it is using the grenade launcher. ez pz solution. No wasted nades.
But yeah. concussion rifle AI are just OP. gotta just deal with that one.
Get in close if you can without dying to things around it.
Just like fuel rod elites, being in melee range is the best way to deal with them.
The concussion rifle is the lumpy red weapon, the one that's a sort of explosive plasma rifle.
The focus rifle in halo reach is a sentinel beam reverse engineered by the covenant.
How did they do this before finding halo?.... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Beam rifle is superior though. to needler rifle aswell. Fite me.
Whilst often seen in brute hands, the Concussion Rifle is actually an elite weapon.
It fires plasma. Not propelled grenades.
I suppose the game just had no need of two covenant grenade launchers with essentially the same function.
Come back next week for another daily fun fact.
IIRC a whole lot of their tech was just copied forerunner tech that they didn't understand too much.
I've died a number of times due to lag in firefight (sometimes it can just straight up 1 shot you I think, it's happened to me several times). I don't have a problem with it's power, actually I just really hate the splash damage it does because in Reach, getting behind cover doesn't do much. If the splash radius is big enough it can literally kill through walls (similar to the wraith killing you through a wall if you're too close to the wall).
I don't remember any of this happening on the console version, might be tied to framerate.
