"error encountered while signing in to Xbox Live"
Been playing fine the past 3 days. Got on with a friend and had the "Contacting server for latest matchmaking info" while trying to play Firefight. Saw a fix to that was logging out and logging back in. Got back in once but still had the issue, so I thought trying it one more time would work.

Since that second log in attempt the game REFUSES to log me in. I've tried verifying the files, I've tried deleting the XBL authorization for a fresh reboot, nothing works. This game refuses to log me in.

How the ♥♥♥♥ do I fix this.

Hey, mate. Getting the same problems over here. It seems this issue started today and I'm beginning to see more players with this issue. I posted a similar discussion listing some solutions, however, none have worked for me but might work for you.

Here are some solutions:

Solution 1

Locate and delete your MCC folder located in “LocalLow” by copying this pathway in file explorer: C:/Users/Username/AppData/LocalLow/MCC

Afterwards, relaunch the game.

Solution 2

Run REGEDIT or “Registry Editor” by searching it on the windows start menu. If prompted, allow the program to run. A new window will open and you should see an option regarding “HKEY_CURRENT_USER” . Beside it should be a drop-down arrow. Click it and navigate to Software\Microsoft\XboxLive . Here should be a file named “HasFiredSignInEvent” , delete this registry key. Afterwards, relaunch the game.

This should allow you to sign into your Microsoft account, as the log process for the game has been reset.

Other solutions that might work:

  • Disable your anti-virus/firewall software.
  • Run the game as administrator
  • Run Halo MCC without anti-cheat enabled
  • Verify integrity of game files
  • Uninstall/reinstall
  • Contact steam or Xbox Live support (Last resort

Also, I tried the exact same fix that you did and I got this problem :/

I found a fix that some how worked for me.

After re verifying the files, I launched the game in modded mode (east anti cheat disabled). It prompted me to log in, it worked, and then I closed the game.

Afterwards, I relaunched the game, and easy anti cheat was giving me "another launcher is already active" error. Looked in Task Manager, killed a duplicate EAC process, and was able to load the game. After that, My log in finally worked.

Gonna just be cautious touching this until more updates. This is abysmal. Thanks for the help. I'll bookmark this and keep it in mind if it happens again.

Hey, I'm glad you found a fix and you're welcome. I'll try out your solution to see if it'll give me the same success. Thank you and i'll bookmark this as well.

After deleting the "MCC" folder my game no longer tries "spinning cirlce" to even login to xbl. it just immediately fails. I can click retry as fast as I can click. and it doesnt look like it is trying anyting. before deleting to folder it would spin for 15 or more seconds.

Unforuntealy I tried deleting the folder first. so after trying the registery change I do not see any difference from after deleting the folder.

I have "xbox console companion" and "xbox (beta)" running in the background and both logged in. I have tried nearly every other thing you have suggested as well. I am reinstalling now.
I had that problem, but the only solution I could do was to format the computer (apart from that it also had a lot of accumulated garbage) and install the game in the hope that it works and it did, but I think it's too much to solve the problem
