Error encountered while signing into Xbox Live
Something to note: recently I’ve been seeing more players report about this issue. This could be an issue on 343’s / Xbox’s end and may be fixed in the near future. This is an issue I encountered myself and currently trying to fix it.

(this is also my first posted discussion – pardon me if this is the wrong place to post)

Solutions that may work for you (but haven't for me).

Complex Solutions

  • Solution 1:

Locate and delete your MCC folder located in “LocalLow” by copying this pathway in file explorer: C:/Users/Username/AppData/LocalLow/MCC

    Afterwards, relaunch the game.

  • Solution 2:

Run REGEDIT or “Registry Editor” by searching it on the windows start menu. If prompted, allow the program to run. A new window will open and you should see an option regarding “HKEY_CURRENT_USER” . Beside it should be a drop-down arrow. Click it and navigate to Software\Microsoft\XboxLive . Here should be a file named “HasFiredSignInEvent” , delete this registry key. Afterwards, relaunch the game.

This should allow you to sign into your Microsoft account, as the log process for the game has been reset.

Simpler Solutions

Note that these may or may not work, but it couldn’t hurt to try.

  • Disable your anti-virus/firewall software.
  • Run the game as administrator
  • Run Halo MCC without anti-cheat enabled
  • Verify integrity of game files
  • Uninstall/reinstall
  • Contact steam or Xbox Live support (Last resort).

Personally, I can’t test the last option because I created a new account to play Halo on PC but I don’t remember the email I used to sign up.

I tried every single way to solve this issue but nothing. I'm talking to xbox support and they gave me a solution).

First, sign out from the Xbox app
Make sure to close both the Xbox app and the game app completely
Then go to PC Settings, then select App
Then click on the Xbox App
Select Advanced Options
Then click on the following in sequence

Click on Terminate
Click on Reset
Click on Restart (only if the option is available)

Then Exit out back to the Desktop Screen
Then Open the Xbox App and Sign in
Then try the game again

For solution 2, I don't even have Software\Microsoft\XboxLive. Specifically the XboxLive part.
