So... when you actually need them, they are not used? lol oh well.
cheers
Not so much that they aren't used so much as they weren't there to begin with. Reach came out in September of 2010, which was back when subtitles for gameplay and cutscenes weren't an industry standard, and the console release of MCC didn't address it either.
Does that necessarily give 343 a free pass to not have updated the game and put them in? In my opinion, no, but I don't know how difficult the process of porting Reach over to PC nearly a decade later was, so I don't want to pretend It was simple. As far as I'm aware, the only games we're going to see in game subtitles for are Combat Evolved Remastered and Halo 4.
Of all the things to not remaster. Half Life 2 had general subtitles and that game came out in 2004. It's a ridiculous oversight for a game that thought so highly of itself as to put accessibility options on their own tab.
It's a real ♥♥♥♥♥♥. I'm playing on Game Pass PC and was happy Halo CE had subs cause sometimes there so much noise you can't make out what they're saying.
Just started Halo 2 and thought it was a bug.
Then again , Reach Port is utterly farcical , sound issues aside, haven't touched Halo 2 yet.
Halo CE didn't have them either, but the Anniversary re-release in 2011 added that.
Halo 4 has subtitles for both cutscenes and gameplay.
In-game subtitles is a quality-of-life improvement that is still within the realm of possiblity. We just have to ask enough.
Hmm..that'd explain few things ...
Reach - Ported really like p starting profanity - poor audio, gun model that takes 1/4 of scrreen no matter of the FoV, bland graphs, cluster F HuD that block your view when you want to see your enemies, super delayed vehicle controls etc...
Halo CE - Direct port of original Halo port with graphs upgrage. ( Wouldn't be so bad, as original ports main fault of bad optimisaition is compensated by modern hardware. But for the record, flood with RPG can got to h....)
Halo 2 : Don't even want to think about it , unless gamma resets after death of Regret, like it did in first port....
Halo 3: Most wanted game, fingers crossed.
I do wear headphone yes hear any sound but doesnt understand...shocking bad for deaf community
I feel dumb no idea
