Gifting: Upgrading From Reach to MCC

It says I will not get an extra copy of MCC if I upgrade from reach, does this mean I cannot gift anything if I already have reach? If so is there any way I can pay for the full thing and get a giftable copy?

It is not. If you buy the MCC for yourself, you will get access to the other games as they become available, but not an additional copy of Reach.

If you buy the MCC for someone else, they will get all of it--including Reach.

No. If you own reach and decide to buy the full MCC you won't get an extra copy of reach to give to someone else. Steam stopped doing that years ago.

If you want to just gift a copy of Reach you should be able to just send reach by adding it to your cart and select gift instead of purchase for self.

Unfortunately, no. I bought Reach first just to check build quality (and I know some people are having issues; my experience has been largely positive). I went on to buy the MCC. No extra copy of Reach.

I did, however, gift some friends copies of Reach. You can buy it solo for others just as you did for yourself.

So I can understand why it wouldn't gift reach, but would it gift the rest of the collection?

If you buy the MCC for someone, they will get the whole thing. The "no extra copy" applies to you.
