Xbox pros will suck against mouse players

So I could be completely wrong about this, but I think even the average decent player would be able to beat a pro controller player.

I say this because I spend the entire yesterday watching Halo Tournaments and seeing how the pros play with the controller.

I consider myself a fairly decent player overall and I honestly think I'll be able to match up against the pro controller players after I've gotten use to Halo a bit.

(So this comes from someone who played Halo:CE a bit on PC a long time ago and then never Halo again, but I've played lots of other shooter games in the meantime.)

What I noticed about a lot of these pro players with controller is that their playstyle is formed due to playing with a controller. Their accuracy isn't that great. So you don't see regular one taps and they regularly throw grenades and resort to heavy and rapid firing guns.



What do you guys think?

(I don't want biased answers though. Actually go and watch how the pro Halo people play the game with a controller and then come answer this).

Honestly, it shouldn't matter. I understand there may be an advantage, but like someone mentioned, it can be remedied with things like aim-assist for controller. But ultimately it should just be down to "Do these two people want to play with eachother, regardless of if one has Keyboard and Mouse and the other one controller?"

I say have an option that one can opt-out if they don't want to play with keyboard & mouse for xbox. Also, you can already get an extension on the Xbox One to play keyboard and mouse, so really it's not going to change much. Personally I'll be playing with a controller as it feels more comfortable and at home for Halo.

Aim assist only gets you so far until it's to the point of an aimbot at which it just becomes unfair.

PC players will look around 360 degree a lot more than console players will. This can be seen when people have played some of the later Battlefield games on console and flank the group. Barely anyone will look back.

Do that on PC and people will turn around pretty quickly.

Even if a console player gets the head up on a PC player from behind or from the sides a PC player can instantly and more accurate adjust the camera to the right position.

You're controlling the camera with the thumb on the gamepad where as on a mouse it's the entire hand. There is a difference.

all the actual aiming aside , the biggest pro of kb&m over gamepad is wasd and looking around , you can do a 180° spin so much faster with a mouse (and generally with your wrist compared to your thumb )same with wasd , you just cant sidestep with a and d with a gamepad , it wont happen , and you cant go as quickly from going left to going right

when i move around in some games like batman i can look around me with mouse , with a gamepad i would need to sacrifise using ABXY for that

the actual aiming is just 1 thing , i could aim well in splatoon 2 as well , but the whole not being able to look around you , i died so often to a paintroller because i couldnt move my camera to see whats behind me

Xbox pros don't play with keyboard and mouse though. They use a game controller.

i remember rags mention this in a video , a very good console team lost to an average pc titanfall team because kb&m simply is better , a gamepad limits you in shooters , the pros on xbox most likely use xim

The first official PC Reach tournament, that I know of, takes place at Dreamhack in February. Do you honestly think fps pros are training for it on controllers?

They are even LethuL a halo pro plays Matchmaking on Mouse but he scrims and will compete on controller. He is a rank 40 playing strictly on mouse and keyboard and on his main account using controller hes a rank 50. Then again hes still leveling up his mouse account.

Probably because he's transitioning over to m+kb. I've seen enough pro footage to see how limiting it is. By today's fps standards on pc, it looks 'advanced' at best. They have thousands of hours on the controller, give them a few hundred with the mouse to surpass it.

Lethul according to him he would rather play on controller not because he thinks hes bad on it but because in a tourney he thinks cleaning up one shot kills with a controller is easier and if they get away it can change the whole game.
