My progress is not transferring

I played these games back when they first came out and then again on Xbox one on gamepass and they had all my old stats and emblems. I just got it for steam and besides some achievements it has absolutely nothing saved... no campaign progress, no emblems... nothing. Whats the deal?

This is not crass play/save with console.
This is cross play with microsoft store [pc] but save progress is managed by MS store and Steam respectively.

Did you play the MCC version of the game previously, or the Xbox 360 version?

Only progress from the MCC on Xbox one is shared to the PC, not the 360 ones.

I played the MCC on xbox one and it rememberd my old xbox 360 progress down to my Halo 2 emblem and halo 3 katana and stuff but now its blank. i really dont want to have to get game pass on my xbox at home just to check this stuff.

The 360 games progress never tranfferred into the Xbox One version MCC either.
You might have had the armour unlocked from the start because all the Halo 3 armour is unlocked for everyone.
Progress, XP, ranks, even achievements are not transferred from the 360 releases, not into the PC or the Xbox One MCC.

Saves are only shared from XB1 MCC to PC MCC, and vise versa.

I know that is not the case, had full campaign transfer i had all my legendary completetions accounted for, it saved my custom emblem which was an eye that i made using a combo of differnt colors/layers.. If i pay for game pass i will have it again which i guess i will have to do. Keep in mind i have played it less than a year ago with all of the above accounted for so its not like i'm remembering wrong cosidering i bought an xbox one just for that purpose

I even have achievements on steam for completing all chapters of some of the games but when i'm in the mcc looking at my stats none of the games have any difficulty cleared even though it says my play time is over 24 hours on that particular game... it makes no sense.

I'm telling you this for a fact, functionally it's correct.
Here Ske7ch from 343 saying as such last year:

Within MCC, yes, your progress and progression will carry-over between the console and PC versions. All stats, achievements, Forged maps, and game variants will be shared between all of the games within MCC. Mid mission saves will be unique to each platform and cannot be shared.

Your Halo: Reach unlocks and progression from the original game on Xbox 360 will NOT carry over to MCC.

And as a reminder, MCC on Steam will require a free Microsoft Account, but not Xbox Live Gold.

I'd link it, but it seems to be bugged on the halo subreddit and showing as removed, even while it's still there on ske7chs comment history.

The emblem thing also shouldn't have been Possible, considering the MCC doesn't even sync the emblem like that at all, it has to be re-equipped.

It does genuinely sound like you were playing the backwards compatible versions on the Xbox one - were they running through the MCCs unified menu system or do you remember the games having their original menus when you played them back then?

I read online somewhere that at one point reach was able to import data and that if you did that that the data would transfer. also i can log into the offical halo website and see my legendary completions and my armor emblem and customization i had when i last played it on xbox one. also aparently when the game installs on pc it does not default to install all the games so perhaps after downloading them all it will update itself... But 100% ZERO doubt it remembered my 360 saved emblems and info because i had completely forgot about it until it was pulled up.

Look i get what your're saying and my xbox profile in general went through some strange things when i had to migrate it but it even had old saved videos i had from a zanzabar ranked match on 360 for a long time. I'm halfway expecting to get some of my progress back once i download the campaigns.

I don't see how it's roundabout, they mentioned the "data import" event which I was explaining.

I dont think its fair to pile on the guy, he is trying to help but i think in this case the issue is beyond the scope of what hes used to dealing with. i'm not mistaken in my claims. in fact my game is acting weird now... it downloaded the halo CE and has my legendary completions on solo on all missions except for one smack dab in the middle of the campaign which is odd but at least installing the games is fixing some of the issues... im working on installing halo 2 now... but for some reason every game after halo 2 on the list is straight greyed out and cannot be selected at all.

Oh nevermind i thought they were already realesed but they were not... i bet that has a lot to do with why my stuff is messed up. because i played a complete version of the game that had all my imported data and this version is not complete yet...
