Story is very good, multiplayer isn't dead I'd say, but some people say it's hard to find games.
its really hard for me finding a MP match, let a lone a type match that i want or like.
i tried turning relays ON & OFF,login relogin the account, social and compt...

but nothing helps, for me the MP is dead ATM...
SP is good. This is six games after all(and maybe cranked up to 7 if a post I saw on reddit some time ago is correct). Keep in mind they all have varying gameplay as these are different games made in the span of 11 years and one of them being made by a different dev. MP ISN'T that dead but it takes some time to find a match, especially if you're in the EU.

story is good but if u want to play multiplayer u might have to find the active hours of people playing in the area of the world u are
The MCC is in Early Access. As a fan I am still waiting on fixes before I play through parts of the game for the first time in years. The games are good and I like them, but everyone here has a lot of waiting to do. If you want to play co-op then you might have a bad time. Split-screen is only possible with mods right now.

The games are sort of in a weird state. Halo CE still has PC port mis-matches and inconsistencies, Halo CE Anniversary has story terminals that are spoilers for later games, Halo CE Anniversary's remastered graphics destroy the atmosphere and ruin tension, Halo 2: Anniversary is mostly great but starts with a post-Halo-4/pre-Halo-5 teaser that's worth starting in classic graphics just to avoid, and finally the "chronological" order of playing through the series does nobody any good because that means putting Halo: Reach first and that game's retcons are still in a weird limbo state.

There's no server browser but one is coming soon (after Halo 4). There are no mod tools but they are coming soon. The Xbox One version is still being patched and improved and it released back in 2014. 343i showed pictures of old Xbox developer units that they are using to try and fix Halo CE's underlying port problems. Halo: Reach will be getting a fix for audio issues soon. Halo 2 (classic)'s music will be patched to not be muffled. Forge will be releasing with Halo 3.
Buy and play in coop with friend, all games have compaign coop mode.
It's very fun in legendery difficulty ))

None.

Wait till they fix all the issues first.

These clowns didnt even bother to fix the console release of MCC for years.

Stop giving them money for broken products.

Also,

"Co-Op Latency: At this time, we have not been able to identify any issues around this feature and the functionality is on par with the rest of MCC. There is no active development happening around improving/re-writing the legacy network code around this area of the game. Unfortunately, this would be a massive undertaking and just isn’t within the realm of what the team can currently support." -343 Industries' home page."

Imagine a company that has the multi-billion dollar backing of none other than MS claiming that they cant fix the product that theyre selling you because it "isn’t within the realm of what the team can currently support".

lmao.
For the most part, I think MCC is going to be in quite a decent state with the Halo 3 launch, as it will add challenges, a new season (with improvements), Forge for all games and gun visual model adjustments, while also fixing long-time issues such as the Reach audio. I'd recommend getting it with that game as the population will see a huge increasement. Right now I'd say the game is dead, but it takes several minutes to find the best matches and specific sizes like FFA and BTB, even during peak times (the problem is worse in FFA, BTB is mostly OK).

Then Crossplay, a Custom Games Browser and input-based Matchmaking are going to be included, so the collection will definitely survive.

I won't deny there are a lot of quality improvements the multiplayer side of things could use, as well as the campaign, but for the most part you can have fun. Them recently fixing FPS interpolation in terms of animations, cinematics and environment give me hopes about the games that aren't too good above 60 FPS at the moment; Reach, but most noticeable H2A.

I find it easy to find games, i believe it depends were you live and what games are out at the moment (US has the most ammount of games, then EU then anything else). But if you have never tried halo then you should absolutely try campaign first before anything else.
The plot rises flush with Star Wars, Star Track and Alien. If you like cosmos and sci-fi - you should? NO! YOU MUST BUY MCC!

Ah, multiplayer is alive with 4vs4. And it is inferior even to PC games from the late 90s / early 00s. But this is not the main part of the game.
Buy it for single player it is worth it.

Buy all the games but Halo 4, that one is bad.
Play Halo 1 and 2 with their original visuals.
